Sand People are also refered to as "Tusken Raiders". These savages are natives of Tatooine and no individual has ever seen what they look like under the bandages. Tusken Raiders uses Banthas for food and transportation, riding in single file to conceal their numbers. They also keep massiffs as pets and guards. They have been known to fire at podracers during races.
Sand People played a vital role in the transformation of Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader. They kidnapped his mother and beat her senseless. She died in Anakin's arms. Anakin was furious and killed the whole clan of Sand People in his first "Dark Side Outburst".
One should always be careful when traveling through the Jundland Wastes.

I was so happy when Anakin destroyed the Tusken Raiders camp. It was sooo satisfying to watch that.

Also, the Sand People frighten easily, but they'll be back and in greater numbers.
