so? only in the movies. it's not like there's an exact timeline in soul calibur.
And it's not like you have to count starwars' vader and yoda fighting soul calibur in the star wars saga. there are like only a million novels and comics with darth vader.

It was a joke.

EDIT: also, there is an exact timeline in the soul series
Soul edge(the 1'st game for those of you who don't know)takes place in 1584,and
SoulCalibur takes place in 1887.
While SoulCalibur 2 and 3 take place in 1591.

The official site is here.
SOULCALIBUR IV - What's Within Your Soul?

There is info here as well.
SOULCALIBUR® IV - NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc.

SSB V.S SC

True, now that I see that SC has a coherent story, where as SSB obviously does not, just forcing characters in this series is kinda ridiculous. But if they respect the core stories, use some creativity and add appropriate characters, guests are still fine.

I'm kind of indifferent, though leaning on the side of Boo here. If anyone has played any of the Soul Calibur games, they would know that the characters already involved in the plot are PLENTY to keep you busy - hell, if you were to master using ONE character that is a feat. In that sense, the need for guest characters is kind of silly.

Playing devil's advocate though, they are just guests. I think it's perfectly ok to include them as long as you know that they don't actually have anything to do with the story, but are just there for kicks and giggles.

Oh, and those "not a gamer" arguments/comments were really silly.
