R2D2 is in Star Trek

And here's the proof:

And zoom in:

I wonder which ship he was on before the fleet was destroyed...

I found that in the theaters, but I can't find it in the DVD.

Was it removed or something?

Cool, but not the first time they've snuck SW into a Trek movie. (That's what they get for farming out special effects work to ILM.)

Indeed here's the Millennium Falcon in First Contact.

(grey blob near the bottom)

It works both ways, the Enterprise flies by in one of the scenes where you can see traffic through a window in Episode one.

Star Wars is set "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away..." While Star Trek takes place in the future of our galaxy, so no they don't.

It's just stuff ILM put in for fun.

It's an easter egg. The plots are in no ways connected, the R2-D2 and Millenium Falcon cameos were just fun little references to the other movie series.

^^Well, then, is it possible that things like the Millennium Falcon and R2-D2 could've somehow drifted into our galaxy by the time Star Trek occurs?

I doubt it all those obstacles and things that could destroy them like black holes.

^Space is mostly just that---space. Odds are pretty good things from SW could drift to our galaxy without hitting anything or getting sucked into a gravity well. (Granted, it'd certainly push the 'long time ago' thing into 'extreme understatement' territory...assuming sublight speeds, we're talking millions if not billions of years adrift.)

They sped around the sun and time travelled into the future. Apparently you can do that, ST4 anyways.

They also did it in one of the episodes. But can you do that with Hyperdrive?
