We've got these real horrible viruses on our computer that we can't get rid of. They do a bunch of annoying things, like making the computer run slower, crash, and they won't let me play Runescape. I could corrupt them, but they're in an invisible folder that I can't get into. We've had these same viruses two times before. Anything I can do about this, or will we have to get the computer cleaned off a third time?
I could post the names of the viruses, if that would help.

Yeah, it would. There's a bunch of cleaning programs you can donload, though I'm not sure which are to be trusted.

I have McAfee, which is supposed to be good. I'll have the virus names in a few minutes, I'm scanning right now.

I had Mcafee once. Then I realized how much it sucked.

Not sure if you have to pay for it, but I use this program and my computer hasn't gotten a virus since.

It looks like you have to buy some kind of liscense for it or something. The names of the viruses are: ProcKill-T, ProcKill-T, ProcKill-Term, and HideWindow.

Grisoft has a free antivirus client here. The viruses you're getting though look like trojans, so I would be very careful of the things you seem to be downloading.

I also recommend that you do a fresh re-image of your harddrive, because having a virus infect your system has a penchant for gumming up your system even if you remove it.

AVG Antivirus pwns. I've used it for years, and it's not nearly as intrusive as McAfee or Norton, yet it still offers wonderful protection. The only downside is that they don't keep a full online virus encyclopedia anywhere, but that's what McAfee's http://vil.nai.com is for.
