| Guest Posts: n/a | Then give out some specs! My Barton 3000+ is currently OCed from a FSB (DDR) of 333MHz to 362MHz. After the multiplier that sets the clock of the CPU to 2355 MHz. Any suggestions on how to eventually bring it up to a 400 MHz FSB? RAM timings are 7 3 3 2.5, and the ratio is at 1:1. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Look up on Google on overclocking, there's alot of information out there. However, if you've never opened your computer case and don't know what a BIOS is, I would do alot of research before I attempted overclocking. Overclocking isn't necessary anyway - it's just kinda "cool." ~mariofreak~ |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Quite often that is the case, but some processors cna go pretty far. Look at the 2500+ and 3200+ Athlon Bartons. Exactally the same, except that the 2500+ has a 333 FSB. Most steppings will allow you to get 3200+ speeds with an overclock up to 400 MHz. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | True; but for someone who just uses their computer for everday stuff and 'simple' games, a few more MHZ aren't going to make much difference. High FSB's are nice, but they're not everything either. Intel has their newish 800mhz FSBs and yet they still tend to be on the same level as AMD chips from the same 'era.' I know that's not what you were getting at, but I just thought I'd say all that anyway. I guess we both get what the other is saying. ~mariofreak~ [ January 29, 2004, 11:01 PM: Message edited by: MarioFreak ] |

| Guest Posts: n/a | You know overall MHZ doesn't matter so much when you hit pipeline restrictions (especially in 3D games... the K6-2 was a good example of this) It's still amusing to see how far you can take your system. |
