I was shopping at my local Play N Trade(where I will soon be employed), and in the used handhelds area, I saw a nice giant Game Gear staring at me, crying at me for me to buy it. It was so big and cute I couldn't resist! The price($10) coupled with the fact that I was never allowed to have one as a child spurred me to buy one, as well as Sonic Chaos($3 used) and Sonic the Hedgehog 2(BRAND NEW $13). Any other Game Gear owners here? |

Welcome to your brand new life as a Game Gear owner. It's, um, quite a thrill? I have one, and one of these for good measure. Allow me to take this topic on a whimsical tour of Game Gear's highlights: Sonic 2 is pretty awesome if you can get past the boss battles (make sure you play it with the sound all the way up ), but Sonic Chaos is a bit lackluster IMO. Definitely try to pick up Sonic Triple Trouble and Tails' Adventure if you can. Also, burn any copies of Sonic Blast you may see.-If by some twist of fate you come across Ninja Gaiden for Game Gear, you're pretty much required to get that (it's the same as the Master System version, but it's different from the NES version--an entirely different game with the same engine). It's too awesome to pass up. -Umm, Wonderboy 3: The Dragon's Trap is pretty cool too (that's a port of the Master System version, which is the same as Turbografx's Dragon's Curse and Dynastic Hero). -Ristar is also very cool (same engine as the Genesis one, but new stages). -The Space Harrier port makes me cry, -as does Streets of Rage. Like the Master System, the good games for the Game Gear are few and far between, but that's enough reason for me to own one. Last edited by Golem; 07-10-2007 at 04:10 PM. Reason: lawl wrong button |

My favorite game to play for it (aside from Sonic) was definitely Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. Lotta fun. I also used to have a fun time with Batman Returns. |
