Pft. The old Knuckles went faster than the current one.

Furthermore, it's a matter of programming. Knuckles is not perma-slowed, he was just made slower so he could manuever better for treasure hunting.

I doubt they'd bring that back, anyway. That stuff hangs dangerously over as a discredited gameplay style for Sonic stuff.

There is only so many times that you can break the Master emerald into little pieces.

Treasure hunting may be boring, but you can't say they aren't a challenge. All I'm trying to say is that considering how different Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles have become it's only natural that they have different gameplay. Sonic will always do high speed action stages, Tails will always have his tornado or figure something out when it comes to technology, and Knuckles will always protect the master emerald.

^Pfft. When have sonic games ever sucked? They have that visual appeal and the more mature storylines that make it so interesting. That meter has me curious as to whether Sonic can finally get worn out from running so much or if it's a meter to fill up for a speed boost like in the Secret Rings and Shadow The Hedgehog.

Meh, I'm a huge sonic fan, and there have been some rather rubbish sonic games, mostly spin offs but still. This however does look promising.

Red face

True, the recent Sonic games have sucked, but Sonic didn't. He's still a great character, even when some of his games sucked. People still wanted him in Super Smash Bros.

the Abortion that is Sonic 2006 may be the worst modern game in history. Also, Sonic Heros.

I can think of some games that are worse than Sonic 2006.
Here: Link: The Faces of Evil
Those Sonic racing games for the Sega Gamegear
ET (for Atari)
Those Mario:Early Years games for SNES.
