Probobly never going to happen, which is fine by me, personally. The only reason Sonic wore SOAP shoes in SA2 was because Sega struck a deal with SOAP, but last I heard, they were out of business, and having Sonic wear those shoes again would cost Sega royalties.

Besides, we've already seen gameplay footage with his normal shoes, as it should be. They're much more iconic anyway. Might as well make Mario shave.

SOAP isn't out of business. They are still going strong. The sport may have never gotten up but they are most definitely still making shoes. I've seen them in Journey's.

well this sounds like a sweet game as long as when you play as knuckles you don't have to look for chaos emeralds like in sonic adventure. that really ruins playing as knuckles, since he's one of the best sonic characters. and i'm happy that you can play as tails. but hopefully when play as people that aren't sonic, you don't have to do stupid missions like in sonic adventure, when you're tails, you have to race characters.

^Umm...tails only drove the tornado on the highway once on sonic adventure 2. And that wasn't even really considered a race but rather a chasing the president. In Sonic Adventure, I didn't consider Tails' missions that bad.

If you take away the treasure hunting from Knuckles, then what's that leave the famous treasure hunter with???? It's become a staple of his life.

Not a word has been spoken of playing as Knuckles OR Tails in this game.

I really hope that Wolf-Sonic is somehow a typo for Shadow the Hedgehog.

^^Lol even though you saw the screenshots in the beginning? Anywho, Shadow will be in there for sure. He's the second most popular sonic character. Oh and going back onto the Soap Shoes thingie...if Sega were to quit because of copyright reasons, then why has Shadow kept his SOAP shoes throughout every sonic game after Adventure 2?

Knuckles is too slow to go through an action stage like sonic. The whole reason you have an array of characters is to have an array of gameplay types. I'm personally glad they are going back to Sonic Adventure 2 type gameplay.

Have you guys ever played Sonic 2 with Knuckles? It's quite fun, and there's no emerald radar or ridiculous backtracking to get in the way. Knux isn't as fast as Sonic, but he can still do an action stage, just differently.

And remember, "I'm-a Tails, number one!"

Considering knuckles can't do spindashes, is very slow, and about the coolest thing he can do is punch and glide, it just doesn't seem very much to go through 3D action stages like that. Remember controlling Knuckles in Sonic Adventure 1 and 2? Would you really want to go through a linear action stage like that!??? I'd be more annoyed doing that than hunting for the master emerald pieces. Lol...

^I didn't say he didn't. What I mean is controlling Knuckles has always been slow in games. I'd be sick of going that slow in an action stage like Sonics. His action stages would also be like Gex's or Spyro (uggh). That's why I think it's a perfect compliment for him to keep treasure hunting.

I never got to play SA1.
I was frustrated at the slowness of his levels in SA2, but I figured that was because of their format.
I also remember that he handled perfectly well in Sonic 3/S&K.

And remember, "I'm-a Tails, number one!"
