That's the dumbest excuse for a sonic game EVER! I played the first one, thought it was awesome, good story, pretty good graphics(for dreamcast into gamecube) and it's awesome how you choose characters The 2nd one was even better, BETTER story, BETTER graphics, BETTER characters, BETTER EVERYTHING Then when I heard in Sonic Heroes you play as three characters at once I was thinking "WOAH! I HAVE TO GET THIS GAME!" the more i looked into it, the cooler it sounded. then when i finally got it... NO story(come on, would you call that a story? you barely even see metal sonic throughout the whole game!) SAME GRAPHICS AS SONIC DX(in the game, not in the cut scenes) AND THE WORST THING! tails's voice... WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH IT? HIS VOICE IN SONIC BATTLE WAS WAY BETTER! (If thery ever make one) Sonic 4 better be ALOT better, or else I ain't buying any more games (sonic advance 2 sucked, not buying 3 or 1) |

Leveling up is optional. And by my experience, it doesn't make that much of a difference (besides the score you get after the level). Quote:

2) I wouldn't know about this, since I don't own Advance 2, but the Mini Chao Garden in Advance 1 sucked enough. 3)Have you played any of the Genesis games? Quote:

Unless it's one heck of a good game, like Melee of course. And the Sonic games for Genesis DID have story! It just wasn't done through text. It was done through the instruction manual and through the characters' actions. For example, I really liked the scene in Sonic and Knuckles where Robotnik takes the Master Emerald. You could actually attack Robotnik in it, but he grabs the emerald and gets away anyway. The part about the boring ring thingies made me laugh. Collecting rings to open stages to collect Chaos Emeralds isn't just a part of Sonic games, that's almost Sonic itself. Rings = Special Stages = Chaos Emeralds = Good Ending. In Sonic Adventure I recall playing a stage in the casino where it went Special Stages(pinball) = Rings = Chaos Emerald, and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle had you collecting the Chaos Emeralds as part of the plotline instead of as optional stages, but that's generally the way it goes. Would you like them to remove the "boring" boss battles too? Would you like to fight just giant versions of old enemies that are much bigger this time? Why don't we take away the speed too. Oh, it would be much more fun if Sonic just walked everywhere, wouldn't it? (In case you don't know, that's sarcasm.) I don't have Sonic Heroes, so I won't go over some of these points, but I played a demo and I really didn't like Tails' voice. Tails' voice from Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was my favorite. That's exactly what I'd imagine Tails would sound like. Now I'll stop talking before my post gets in the way of L007's stabbity rage. |

I mean, sure it's a little harder than the last two, but then again, that's usually how a sequil is supposed to be, I think...Xp Or at least games that come after other games. I still haven't gotten the chaos emeralds though...Xp Just remmeber, it's a matter of opinion. I never met a game I didn't like. Except Donkey Kong Math. Xp |

Okay, some of you mentioned difficulty. The rest of you are dabbling about the story, graphics, music, and Tails' voice with a dab of the difficulty level on the side. From what it sounds like, the story, graphics, music, and Tails' voice are all you guys are judging the games by, with a couple of you caring about the difficulty levels of the games. And then when Sean brings up something, the rest of you say "WRONG" with no particular reason why he's "wrong". For example, Sean says "The graphics aren't as good as Sonic Adventure 2". Random Dude comes along and says "WRONGO. The graphics of Sonic Heroes are MUCH better than those of Sonic Adventure 2." and nothing more. Would either of you care to explain how one looks better than the other? Okay, there was the Difficulty comment Dark Magus made. But can you explain just HOW the Genesis games are harder than the GCN ones? For me, it probably has to do with stupid level designs. From what I played of the GCN ones, you could see what you were doing. In the original ones, you had to know EXACTLY how to do the levels, or else you'd be constantly running into enemies and those ball-and-chains, or else you'd run out of time. And I hated the method of getting the Chaos Emeralds in Sonic 3. You people who are insulting the guy for flaming a game he disliked that you happened to like are no better than he is. He wasn't even insulting you, just the game. Maybe his reasons are kind far-fetched. Intelligently argue with him. You don't look good when you're flaming him for having his own opinion. Sean, the same goes for you, although you haven't been flaming other people, just the game. Calm down a little, buddy? The only Sonic Heroes I've played was the demo on the Double Dash bonus disc. I've barely played Sonic Adventures 1 and 2. I haven't played any of the Sonic Advance games. Don't look at me to defend or attack any of these games. If you want me to be perfectly honest, even though I keep buying the games, I just plain dislike Sonic games. ![]() Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! The grinding was.... just horrible. The camera was little better. The controls were improved from SA2:B's annoying double jump glitch. But what was the point in telling you exactly what character to use? Surely the fun would be in figuring it out for yourself, instead of being spoon-fed all the information. Plus, the levels stank of lazyness. They could ahve at least changed the layout for each team, instead of replecating them with slightly different objectives and difficulties. At the most, they could have given each team their own levels. You know, so you aren't playing exactly the same stages over and over again. The voice acting was horrible, though still slightly better than on the previous two 3D incarnations. For some reason, the Fly characters were always the most annoying. But that's minor stuff, really. I just generally didn't enjoy Heroes as much as the other Sonic games. And I can't remember the Mega Drive Sonic games having the probelm of being too fast. At least not often enough to detract from the game. Usually, the hazardous areas were broken up so you couldn't die stupidly like that. I had that problem more with the Advance games, whcih byh the way, I thought were average as well. That's just my opinion. But unfortunately, it seems Sonic Team has twigged that now they can churn out and old rubbish under the Sonic moniker, and the fans will buy it. |
