Phantasy Star

Speaking of activity...

So, yeah. Phantasy Star.

Who loves it? And none of that online crap- I'm talking about the original. Yep, Phantasy Star originally was just called "Phantasy Star".

Now, to be honest, I've never gotten to play the original, although I would love to, I hear it's worth connecting the plot.

Phantasy Star II was pretty good, but I never beat it. I need to go back and do that, but damn it I need a guide of some sort, it was confusing :/

Phantasy Star III ... Man, I hated this. I should've given it more of a chance, but from what I played I hated it.

But Phantasy Star IV is one of my favorite games of all time. I loved everything about it, and when I was a young gamer it was my first introduction to Sci-Fi (despite that I didn't really know what was going on).

I'd say the characters were realistic, they all had problems and weaknesses...Man, that one scene (anyone who's played the game knows) made me cry...It's stuck with me forever.

Perhaps it was cliche, "oh no evil go fight it", but beyond the basic plot it gives you the backstories and undertones were all enjoyable. The random encounter every three steps is the only complaint I can think of. I need to go back and play this again. Alys is definitely my favorite character.

So, who here has played it? I think it's relatively obscure.

Isn't it out for the Virtual Console yet? Is it? Well why the hell aren't you playing it, go download it.

Phantasy Star IV is definitely the best one. III was good. I didn't have the attention span for II. I beat I and thought it was decent.

Dude the online was so much fun! Anyone remember the big rumors about an S Rank Toothbrush weapon?
