Personally i loved him back in the genesis days with games like SONIC 1,2,CD,SPINBALL,3,SONIC AND KNUCKLES aswell as the GG games but then sonic went down hill with CHAOTIX,TAIL'S ADVENTURE,ECT then in 1999 they tried to bring him back from the dead with a new look and gameplay but while some people loved the new sonic i personally cant stand the new one anybody else think he kinda sucks now

I don't think he sucks, but I did enjoy the old school games more. Except for SA2. I liked that.

There are only three sonic games I have enjoyed... Sonic 3, Sonic CD, and Sonic Jam... SA2 was incredibly leniar, and the camra was horrible, it was way too easy to die, I personally hate SA2, they made it worse with Sonic Heros, I pray that the next sonic game does not suffer the same fate...

^Personally, I hated SA1's horrible cutscenes, (Aside from the CGI ones. They actually did something right there.)bad voice acting, and lack of free movement on the characters in the cutscenes. They fixed that in SA2, fortunatly.

I hated the Game Gear games. Other than that, I do enjoy the old Sonic more.

Eh, I think it's hard to compare the newer 3D games to the older 2D ones. Though I'll always say that Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles are far above any of the other games...

Sega isn't exactly helping the situation by going "2 teh xtreme" and giving you-know-who a you-know-what.

it's kind of hard to keep up with the originals with time's changing and all that. especailly since nintendo now owns sega so they had to get rid of some ppl and bring in new ones.

but sonic 2 will always be my fav. ^^ [huggles it.]

SA2 had me addicted only because of raising Chaos. I lost interest when some FREAKIN' IDIOT deleted my ultimate chao. Dang thing took me years to make... Back on subject, the new ones are alright, but a lot of the old ones are far greater than the new ones. Personally, the "new" Shadow interests me. He's become a biker with a pistol, making him feel "cool". We'll have to see what this does to his ego... And his gun gives doubts, but the Jak games got way better when guns were added, so hey! It might just work!
MY VERDICT:The old games PWN the new ones, but the new ones don't suck in my eyes.

Sega is a strictly 3rd-party company, as far as I know.

I was fairly certain that was common knowledge.

</font>
Meaning it sells it's products (games, in this case) to other bigger gaming companies (Nintendo, Sony, And Mircrosoft.)

One prime example is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, which is made by Neversoft. Notice how each (newer) Tony Hawk game is one just about each system? That's because Neversoft is third party.

Yeah, it says Sony or Microsoft on those versions.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

The Jak games didn't exactly get better with guns, man I played through all three - the most beautiful part of the games was the world. That's what Jak is all about. Frankly I think Jak was better when he didnt talk, and Daxter was the mouth - I liked the silent giant and mouthy pipsquak idea. The only reason it worked for the Jak is because Jak only has three games. Now he has guns. He only didn't have guns in the first game, but since other than the massive-scape-world J&D had there was nothing really new about the series - no real gameplay theme, per se - adding guns didn't matter.

Sonic has never been about shooting. And adding guns is retarded. Sonic has always been about cruising through levels at high speeds.

i only played the first J&D and i liked it, but not enough to get the second one. i thought it was fine on it's own. now he talks? no! &gt;.&lt; that's like giving link a voice-well other than screams and all

but i agree with icy hendriz. sonic isn't about shooting. he's like mario where he jumps on things. the most of shooting in that game came from tails.
