Unhappy The Crappy thing about PS3...

From what ive learned on television the PS3 will NOT work with used games, movies or anything that is used only your games and movies etc. work. So if your that guy who loves buying used games from EB games dont even think about getting a PS3 because used games wont work! Apparently theres something in the PS3 that makes it so only your stuff will work. But the people on t.v. arent sure either so you never know.Maybe it might be worth your money....

Blu-ray is going to suck. It's DRMed out the wazzo; I wouldn't be terribly surprised it if just self-destructed after a month so you'd have to buy another one.

Isn't the Blu-Ray also the reason the PS3 is $600? For a feature that most people don't have an HDTV to take advantage of?

Yes. Sony expects that everyone will want to buy a PS3 because it has a Blu-ray drive. And that everyone will have a Blu-ray drive because they wanted to buy a PS3.

From what I heard, you system would tag the disc. Then when ever you try and play it on another system (say your friends). The System would read the Disc for it's tag. If it don't match it doesn't work. Putting it simply.

The Xbox 360 is the only one going smoothly. The Wii, however, is getting a little bit smoother. But the PS3 is really getting ridiculous.

the price

only reason anyone would get it would be to play Assassin's Creed

or because they are severely lacking in brain power

I worked for Gamestop this summer and our Sony rep. told us not to tell customers about the lock out technology, or that there won't be Vibration in the controllers. She said Sony didn't need the "Bad Press".

But she did confirm that yes the technology is there, What it is is a readable-writable feature built into the blu-ray drive and discs. When you put a game in it codes it so it will only work on that PS3.

It's not ment to be an attack on gamers but and attack on used game shops. The industry makes NO MONEY on used games, all used game sales go directly to Gamestops wallet.

I was under the impression this was fake, but apparently it's for real.

And do they even NEED to start using Blue-ray drives now?

Why did Sony have the PS3 price roughly the same price as both the Wii and the Xbox 360 combined? If you can get two systems for the price of another, I'm definately getting the Double-System-Deal.

The reason why the vibration will not in the controllers is, because they're using a sort of Wii feature in them.

Also Sony apparently stopped the idea of the lock out technology.

^Actually, I'm pretty sure they're not using the vibration feature because of some kind of legal issue, and the tilt sensor was a sort of consolation prize for consumers.

Yeah, they got sued for stealing the vibration technology with PS2.

And they say the tilt 'feature' has nothing to do with Nintendo...... I smell another law suit...

Well, unless they copied the actual techonology like they did with the PS2's rumble feature, I don't think so.
