My PS2..(Seriously, this is a GREAT topic)

This is what my PS2's going to look like after about $55 and two weeks.

Pretty sweet isn't it?

Go to this site and you'll be hooked up with a brand new colored PS2.

Not all model PS2's can be colored. Through the life of a console, many design changes take place to reduce costs and to accommodate problems that arise as a result of time. Usually most of these changes go unnoticed. However, there has been a major design change to the Playstation 2 and we are only capable of coloring certain models. You must perform the following check to see if your model qualifies.

1) Flip your PlayStation 2 around to see the back side.

2) Please look at the central bottom part of the back and observe the "Caution Warning"

3) If your "Caution Warning" is engraved into the plastic of the console, your console CAN be colored, and qualifies.

4) If your "Caution Warning" is in the form of a sticker, or if there is not "Caution Warning" at all, your console CAN NOT be colored and DOES NOT qualify. We are sorry we can't accommodate you. We tried to make this model work with our coloring process, but it was not to be. Please do not send your console, and please do not try and trick us in anyway, so your console will be returned minus shipping cost.

That is pretty cool. That PS2 looks nice in silver. But, I don't really care for the color, black is fine. If I have alot of money I'd do that. I'm still going to check my Caution sign though.......just curious........and bored....

BTW, the site has a "Color Machine" that lets you look at your ps2, n64, gcn, or gba in lots of diff colors. You can color each part differently(logo, cd tray, memory card ports, controller ports, front, back, and later: controllers). Hey, mine's engraved too. But I'm not getting it painted. Soon I'll be rid of my PS2, and own a Gamecube. I guess I'll get that painted. It's only $35. And you can get a blue LED light for it.

^same here. If anything, I'd rather be paying for another game or accessories than just to paint my system.

i have one of the first 500,000 ps2's and they have a sticker on the back. anyway why do that? i mean you send it off to some people when you don't know you'll get it back. heh done in two weeks. long enough for them to "lose" it or close the company.

anyway i can get that done for a couple bucks. ever hear of spray paint? you just put tape over areas you don't want paint to go into or onto like the fan or the mess in the front. color it whatever you want. it isn't hard.

haha, it looks cool, with the silver, but I'll keep mine black. haha, if I did ever decide to change the color of it, I think I'd just duct-tape it, hahahaha...

I talked myself out of painting it, but those of you who are considering it, go to colorconsoles.com, there are gold, red, blue, green, and tons of other colors. It's kinda cool, but since I no longer have a PS2, and have a GCN instead, I would rather buy the wavebird, ssbm and other things. (not to mention some 5-mag rims for my car and euro clear tail lenses).

Mine's engraved, but I'm not gonna paint it. Partly because I live in the UK and the shipping price would cost quite a lot, and also because it's too expensive for just a paint. If they had sold the PS2 in different colors, then I would've probably bought green, but I'm not gonna waste money on getting it painted now.

exactly, that's the reason why I'm not getting mine painted. I know people that I could pay for A LOT cheaper price than what that site's charging to paint my system. Regardless however, I won't paint it as it is unesecary.

wow! I'm gonna bookmark that site....too bad I'm saving my money for SMS...so I'm probably gonna get my GCN colored silver!...and maybe my ps2 gold!(I don't have a stand though....)the GCN will probably happen around christmas....and the ps2 around..maybe march
BTW: does the GCN need to be engraved?or can it just have the stickers?
