Actually, there are a few reasons outside of karma.

1. No armor wearing. Yes, he has a large amount of health, but Star Paladin Cross can outlast him.

2. No sneaking. Kinda hard to sneak when you're a huge green mutant, though.

3. Most importantly, hostile NPCs. Unless your Charisma is a worthless 10, there will be NPCs that want him dead. Hell, having Fawkes can make Reilly's Rangers attack, failing the quest. Then again, I don't think people are exactly friendly about Charon, either.

Also, WTF at the Fallout Wikia. First they say Fawkes is a girl due to an interview, then they're all "wtf no he isn't another guy said so", now they're saying that the vault that Fawkes is in says that the specimen reading says Fawkes was a girl.

Boo, no words could ever describe the awesome of that. Not even the awesome face can come close.

1. Fawkes takes more damage then star paladin cross unless cross is wearing fully maintained tesla armor and helmet, and he still has a minigun. thats how high fawkes health is.

2. Fawkes tends to make so much noise that I can sneak up on people while they are fighting him. 100% serious here. Alternatively, leave him outside the area you are sneaking into.
