I've heard of some bad ideas in my day but damn.

I would understand if he said first person game, but he said first person SHOOTER. That's the problem.

Even turning the game First Person wouldn't work. The gameplay wouldn't even be recognizable. Some titles this could work for, like Zelda, perhaps. In a topic about this, I recently expressed that I thought it could work. As for God of War, it is a straight hack-and-slash, with a few magical projectiles thrown in. An FPS is impossible, and a FP is still pretty wrong.

However, Devil May Cry is very projectile oriented, perhaps a FPS mode in it would work, if it were interchangable with the regular Third Person. DMC and GoW are very similar so if they force this idea on a series of this type, DMC is the one that could pull it off well.

He didn't say it should have been a shooter, he said it should have been done in the STYLE of a first person shooter.

Which actually would have been badass, but preferably not GoW III.

^ Yeah, maybe a side game in FP. Side games are great for testing the waters.
