Please help!! PAL region games played on US console

Ok, so I have found some info on playing european games on us consoles but they all seem to say something diferent or im ust not clear on what I need to do...

I ordered richard burns rally and wrc rally evolved and want to play them on my OLD probably 1st gen ps2. Now I know that they PAL games send a 50hz signal and most us tv's are 60hz and that causes problems. I have a new TV that says it supports 50-60hz so will I still have to do anything like chip my ps2 to play these games? If so I have no idea how or where to get this chip, or even what it does.

Someone please give me a straight answer!!! Any links would help too...

Thanks for your time!

ok first of all i wonder if you have tampered with the ps2 since all European games are PAL and the US have NTSC european games don't work with a american gameconsole and the only sollution i know for that is to have your console moded in some way. u

If it was a N64 i think it could have been easyer then you only need a adaptor/gameshark for north america.

Haven't checked, but they probably do. That said, if you want an alternative to paying to unlock features that should have come ready on your system, and you've got a powerful PC, I could recommend trying a PS2 emulator. It's 100% legal to play your discs through that, if you can manage to run the bastard.
