Everybody sounds like somebody out of some Warner Brothers cartoon), and a few other annoyances. I find this game very weird to play on a PSX controller, probably after spending so much time on the first Lost Vikings. Also, Baleog's sword and Fang can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn in this version. I think Fang's problem is that it takes him two seconds to pull his hand back, then slash, and he has to hit the enemy in exactly the right spot. Baleog's sword problem is that its range is horrid. In the SNES version, Fang attacks immedieately and has a larger hit detection area, and Baleog's range is longer. If you fit under your bed, you WILL go hiding under it after you see how ugly Baleog is in this game. I should probably go get a screen capture of his appearance in the opening cinema. The level setups and the dialogue are IDENTICAL to Lost Vikings 2. The controls aren't as good, and I hate this graphic style. I mean, at least the enemies in Shining the Holy Ark look good in this style. The only thing that looks good in this game is Fang on the title screen. Long story short, if you want the sequel to Lost Vikings, get Lost Vikings 2 on the SNES. If you're an avid fan of Lost Vikings, you want to see how ugly Baleog can be rendered, you want an idea of what they sound like, or you just don't own a Super Nintendo, then I guess get Norse by Norsewest. Oh, and I always thought "Baleog" was pronounced "BAH-lee-og". It's pronounced "BAY-lee-og" ![]() Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Hop in line and follow them there! |
