Like I said before, the Italy/Ukraine game is going to be interesting, since I live in a primarily Ukrainian neighbourhood (so Ukrainian that they hold a festival every August).

I'm planning on going to the bar to watch the game and if Italy wins I'm getting the hell out of their as fast as I can.

I so hope Italy don't win. Not only because I generally dislike the team, and because they didn't deserve to win against Australia the way they did, but also because if they lose my friends cannot overtake me anymore in our pre-tournament predictions bet. I'm currently in the lead, but one of my friends has predicted Italy as winner, so he can still win.

You know, I really don't care about policking and whether or not a team "derserved" to win. I also don't care about predictions and bets.

All I care about is that I am supporting a team and I hope that they get as far as they can.

Of course you don't care, because the team you're supporting is still in.

Ronaldo is 50/50, I'd say. He and the rest of the Portuguese team are positive that he has a chance of playing, but the fact is he's doubtful.

If it goes to penalties...well, the press would be all over us if we lose AGAIN. If we get to the semi finals though, that would be a huge achievement.

Yeah, and if Italy gets knocked out, I probably won't watch another game until the final.

That's only 5 games anyway.

From what I've heard and read it seems more and more likely that Ronaldo will play.

Argentina x Germany heading into extra time. Klose's goal was beautiful, I think he's just about wrapped up the Golden Boot for himself unless someone goes crazy.

Eh, missed the tying goal. I'm switching between this and Wimbledon coverage.

Lehmann deserves MOTM just on the fact that he read every PK correctly, let alone saving two of them. Amazing.

I'm ignoring the Ukraine/Italy game in favor of White Sox at Cubs. Even though the Cubs are losing 4-2 in the top of the 6th, its stil better than watching the Cup game. I've flipped to it a few times, almost always to see some Italian pus5y flopping on the ground and crying from incidental contact.

Edit: Get better censors and I won't evade them.

Italy won.

Now they face Germany Wednesday in the semi-finals.

I admit that this may be where Italy's luck runs out, but it should be a good game.

Apparently diving=winning.

And the Dutch are tied with the French as the biggest whiners.

I never like Penalty Shootouts, but Germany deserved to win with such a great penalty killer. I think even Oliver Kahn would admit that. I think it's too bad that these two teams already faced each other in the quarter final.

I expected an Italian victory againt Ukraine, but I didn't think it would be that easy. I think the match was over when Ukraine had a massive chance of making 1-1, and only a few minutes later Luca Toni scored an offside goal. I don't want to blame the referee for the Ukraine loss, but this is getting ridiculous. I fear more and more than Italy become word champions. They only got one goal against, and that one was an own goal.

I hope that England beat the crap out of Portugal today, and I don't really care who wins of the Brazil - France match. If England win, the winner of the cup can only be a former winner. If France also win, there are 4 European teams in the semi-finals, which is pretty rare I think (if not, the first time).

**** you :P

I don't know where they got those stats, but they look pretty ridiculous to me. Portugal are defintely bigger whiners/divers/time wasters than Holland. The only notorious diver is Arjen Robben. And a big WTF to some of the categories. Not singing the national anthem? Spain's anthem doesn't even have lyrics.

Well then obviously you can't have anyone not singing it then. That's why they have a 0 in the column.

I don't think Rooney's card was because of the crotch step, the ref just stood their signaling Portugal ball until Rooney pushed the guy, then the ref reacted and booked him. But it's not his fault, and anyone who puts the loss on his shoulders is an idiot. I think putting Crouch in was a dumb move, he's good on crosses but being a man down he wasn't going to be seeing many of those. Where was Walcott, Sven? At least he put in Lennon, who I had never seen play before, he really really impressed me, and set up at least one golden opportunity off the top of my head.

Still another day, another goalkeeper going crazy in a PK shootout. Man I hate the Iberian Peninsula. Especially Crynaldo. He's the closest a guy can get without actually being Italian.
