In no particular order:

Steve Smith
Chad Johnson
Randy Moss
Marvin Harrison
Joe Horn

Owens doesn't make the list because he's a bad team influence and disrupts/destroys locker rooms. I don't care how good he is, he's ruined two franchises in his career and will wreck a third (come on, you think parcells isn't going to trigger TO being TO?).

Anyone that puts Boldin on this list should be donkey-punched.

Boldin is good cause he is one of the best not very popular because he is in the cardinals but he is really good if you havent seen his stats
and owens doesn deserve to be in the NFL yea he is ok cause he gets the ball thrown to alot and he makes catches but he is one of the most annoying players in the NFL cause all he wants is some attention

To me, Boldin deserves some credit, maybe not as a top 5 receiver Lurch, but he deserves credit. He's a reliable possesion guy that can make plays consistantly, what he and Fitz do in Arizona should at least get some praise.

c'mon lurch, u know just as well as any1 that horn isnt a top 5 wr. mayb top 10, and top 15 to me, but not top 5.

but i do agree w/ u on TO. btw, how bout Chad Johnson himself naming Moss, Owens, Harrison, Holt, and Smith the top 5 wrs in the nfl outside of himself (my list except replace Owens w/ Chad Johnson)

Holt benefitted from playing opposite from Issac Bruce his entire career, hence he doesn't make it. Anyone can look awesome playing opposite a first-ballot hall of famer.

The reason I leave Steve Smith off my list is because as of right now, he only has one stellar season under his belt. It is highly unlikely that this will be his only good year, but as of right now, he is not a top reciever because he has not had more than one good year.

TO is left off for the same reason Lurch left him off. There's no denying that he's one of the most talented recievers in the league, but his off-field antics and disruptions have caused too many problems.

Smith had two 1000+ yard seasons (2005 and 2003), though last year was by far the most productive (1500+). He was injured early in the 2004 campaign though, and its sandwiched between two 1000+ yard seasons. I have him on because he single-handedly owned the best defense in the NFL last year in the playoffs and dominated every week without having a legitimate second recieving threat for the Panthers. I can think of few recievers I'd rather have on my team.

Holt may have benefitted from Bruce, but does that benefit make Holt the best route-runner in the game outside of Harrison? no. did Holt have that benefit when he became only the 2nd WR to win ACC Player of the Year while playing for NC State? no. how bout last yr during the 5 games Bruce didnt play (where Holt had 21 recs, 280 yds, 2 tds in 3 games on defenses like NYG, SEA, and IND.....Holt didnt play in the other 2 games)? no. those reasons r y Holt makes my list.

The Bears may have had the leagues best D, but in recent years, they haven't proven to be clutch during the playoffs, falling out in their first game the last couple times they've made it.

I'm not denying his ability to dominate a game by himself, I'm just saying that until I see him dominate on a consistent basis, he's not a top 5 guy for me. I know I'm being a little unfair because of his 2004 campaigne was dogged by injury, but until he isolates himself as a consistant, big-time reciever, year in and year out, he won't be in my top 5. He's close though. I'd put him at #6 or #7 on my list.
