In terms of the overall term of professional athlete, as in one who plays a professional sport, than yeah, I'd give it to Brady. |

What athlete is the most dominant force in his sport..obviously if we're talking about pure athleticism, Tiger Woods wouldn't be up there. But still, Tom Brady may be the best in the league, right now he's up there. That still doesnt make him that elite of a quarterback, considering the NFL is filled with mediocre QB's right now. I give Brady all the credit in playing in the clutch, which he's done, but he does do a lot of dumpoffs and short passes. Peyton's offense consists of a lot of longer passes, Brady dumps off to Corey Dillon or somebody else for short a lot. He's still very good, but he is overrated. |

Mediocre QB's? Palmer, Brees, Brady, McNabb, Delhomme, Manning, Manning, Favre, Green (obviously injured, still very good), Warner. Mediocre, indeed ![]() The reason Brady does all those dumpoffs is because he doesn't have the weapons Manning does. Also, being able to throw a lot of long balls doesn't make a QB good. Winning when it counts does. Manning chokes EVERY YEAR. I'll bet any money that if just about anyone else was the Clots QB, they'd have more than one championship by now. Plus, Brady had more yards than your boy Manning (and more TD's I think) last year, thus proving he's able to do more with less using his "short passes and dumpoffs". Which, by the way, is the sign of a great QB (see: Brett Favre).

even tho brady was, probly, the biggest part of the back-to-back titles, theres another guy who was just as big, if not bigger. he WAS recognized for it in XXXIX by winning mvp, he wasnt in XXXVIII. that person is deion branch, with a combined 21 catches 276 yds and 1 td in those titles (11 catches, 133 yds, 0 tds in his mvp performance). in XXXVI tho, brady was just avg (16-27, 145 yds, 1 td) and it was defense and vinatieri that won it (law int returned for a td and a 48 yd vinatieri fg to win the game). o ya, 3 questions to end the whole "how the pats were able to win 3 titles in 4 years" debate. 1) how many points did the pats win by in EACH superbowl? 2) what is the ONLY way to score that many points? and 3) who was the ONLY person to get those points, all being game-winners? p.s. - the only time manning has "choked" in the post-season (that i can remember) was against the jets of 02, who were supposed to have barely made the playoffs. last year, it was another colt, by the name of vanderjagt, who choked it up big time.

It isn't so much that he doesn't show up, its just that he manages to completely stink out the place when they lose. His stats during playoff losses are much more telling: 122/233 (52%), 1323 yards 3 TD/7 INT This is the guy that easily lasers in 4 TDs a week and broke Marino's TD/Season record. This is an offensive team that rivals the Martz Rams in their heyday, except they can't bring it when it counts. This is why Peyton has a bad rap in the post-season: because he gets annihilated in critical games against defenses that aren't chumps. Say what you want about Brady: he's 60+ and 20 as a starter, and he's the football equivalent to Mr. October.
