ESPN.com - MLB - Reports: Cubs agree to 8-year, $136M deal with Soriano

Yeah, I got home from the Saints/Bungles game and was feeling depressed. Brees threw 510 yards and lost badly. Then I get on ESPN.com to check stuff, and low and behold the Cubbies did something brilliant. They locked up Soriano for $136M over eight years.

You're batsh1t loco.

They have a good manager who doesn't chew toothpicks instead of getting in the face of slackers.

They picked up the top two hitting free agents (ok, Ramirez is a resign, but he was on the open market) and they have Ramirez, Lee, and Soriano on long-term deals.

Picking up Soriano, who can do everything possible offensively, instantly puts their offense at the top of the National league.

They're hands-down the best offensive team in their division barring a shakeup in Houston or St. Louis.

You're the proof for the "rest of league cries" part.

And you're a Mets fan. Come on, your big offseason piece is Moises Alou. Alou kicked ass...like 7 years ago. If you combine his age with Julio Franco's, you're officially older than dirt.

Grats on Pedro's potentially done career and not pulling the trigger on Zito in July like chumps.

Astros just signed Carlos Lee for 6 years. Maybe that'll bring back some of the starting pitching.
