No story yet because I'm lazy, but reports state that Atlanta is discussing a deal with Oakland for the offseason that would send Vick to Oakland for a package of draft picks and possibly a player (cough MOSS/PORTER cough). Posing this to the resident Falcon fans here: what do you think? Rob old man davis of his future picks and build around schuab, or keep going with the Michael Vick experience? |

Vick being traded to Oakland for Moss or Porter would put him back at square one. A talent behind an O-line that can't get the job done (the OAK line, jsut because they suck, where as Atlanta's has come from inconsistancy, and more recently, injury) and a less than average WR core. No doubt that Moss and Porter will be gone next season, so Al will be dealing with another drop dead offense (that now has slight production. I wouldn't mind if Vick got sent anywhere else BUT Oakland. However, Blank knows that Vick is not hte problem, not only that, but he loves the guy too much to let him go. If anyone leaves this offseason, it's Knapp. Then Donatell, Mora Jr., and McKay, in that order. And that's just management. Who knows what players will be gone, all I could tell you is that your source is more than likely wrong. And, this article could very well explain it. Quote:
1. Keep the guy that has put your team in positions to win numerous times, and get talent around him to make a productive offense. In doing this, you trade Schaub to an organization that needs him. I'd say he and Vick are on the same spectrum, only difference is Vick is faster, yet Schaub is taller. 2. You keep Schaub, and do nothing else. In essence killing the career of another quarterback 3. You keep Schaub and clean house, yet when this offense picks up (if this is done), they'll all blame Vick, and say he sucks, yet the whole offense will have been cleaned out. 4. You do absolutely nothing, and hope to God that no one gets injured next season. Last edited by The Member Formerly Known As Andre; 12-02-2006 at 08:37 PM. | |

I would bench Vick in a damn heartbeat and put in Schuab. Even if you don't plan on trading Vick, you need to work out Schuab and show that he's a quality starter that you can get some trade value. Send him out west and try to get a disgruntled reciever and/or a high draft pick. Atlanta's in a bad position for how they're playing: they're not playing well enough to keep with their players or management, and they're not playing bad enough to get a good draft pick. I see them grabbing a WR in the draft. Heavy wideout draft. Could see them going RB, but they already have a good one (Vick). Get someone who can jump-catch the damn ball and dump some of those jabronis you have. Source = ESPN Radio, Fox Radio, Jim Rome, and ESPN broadcast. I'm sure I could find it in a paper or something, but I'm too lazy to check prosportsdaily or sportspages. |

I really wanna read more about this, so post a link as soon as you find it. Norwood was drafted for the future, and he looks like he'll be the future. Getting Jerry Porter (not Moss, not too sure about him now) in exchange for Schaub would be the absolute sh*t. At least Vick will have a WR that can catch when you call his number (consistantly). I would love to see Calvin Johnson in a Falcons uniform. If he were to fail as a WR, I would then call Vick a WR-killer, but Jenkins and White showed too much promise at moments last season for me to say that Vick is the problem. |
