Buckner says it's because Florida lost to LSU, and LSU's a top 5 BCS team. ... (Florida beat LSU) Jim Walden, the former Washington State coach, voted Florida number one just to counterbalance the idiots voting Florida at #5. These are the people deciding who plays for a National Championship. This thing is a ****ing mess, I got the matchup I wanted but this is regodamndiculious. Here's a list of the cornicopia of random ass former players and coaches and their final ballots: Panelists Rankings Last edited by ShyGuy727; 12-04-2006 at 06:58 PM. |

Always. Every year we get something screwed up. Last year, Oregon lost a spot they should have gotten because of Lou Holtz and the Notre Lame worshippers (although not the NC game, it was still a bust for Oregon). Two years ago, it was Auburn. Three years ago, USC. -CSM Oh, and check this: Although Notre Lame's bias has weakened, it's still there. Apparently they qualify automatically with a 9-3 record, and if they don't get in, the BCS pays the school $1 million. How unfair is THAT? -CSM |

UM doesn't belong in the title game. They had their shot and came up short. I'm a firm believer that you need to win your conference to go to the national championship, mostly so you don't get garbage like OU going to the Sugar Bowl after losing the Big-12 and causing a split NC. Be grateful you're not Rutgers, who get to play in some bowl on the NFL network (so 10 people can watch). Notre Dame gets an auto-bid if they're in the top 8, they don't get a payout if they don't get in. Stop making things up. They got an at-large bid, and I don't agree with it at all. LSWho is going to blow them out. |

HOWEVER, Michigan is still the number two team in the country. And ESPN says Michigan still has a chance to win the AP championship like USCrap did a few years ago. Quote:
I should say that this year the number ten ranked team DID deserve a BCS bid. But ND doesn't deserve the ten spot. -CSM | |

Different than getting money for sucking. |

They get the same payout as conference teams in a BCS bowl but get to keep all of it as well. You have faith in Michigan not showing up. I have faith in USC losing because it's in the Rose Bowl. And I have faith that the USC Cheerleaders will probably be cheering for Michigan (you HAVE seen the movie that shows the USC cheerleader cheering for Texas and then UCLA right?) -CSM |
