A damn fine team and a cornucopia of errors. Congrats, Florida. You are the National Champions.

Smith was just completely out of it- not much you can do in practice to plan for your #1 target nor your entire O-line not being there. Oh, well. Even with Ginn and 2 or 3 less sacks allowed, Florida still would have won handily. our D got shredded.

Boise State fans have no case for #1, whatsoever.

Plenty to look forward to next season. Nearly everyone is returning and an easy ass schedule.

Still a great season...we beat did M*chigan, after all.

This is why I don't like college football. The scheduling across the board is too soft. Big schools load up a schedule of cupcakes (Unless you're ND, then you play Stanford, the military, and some other worse-than-d-II-school) and conference games. This is exactly why I like college hoops better. You get things like the ACC/Big 10 Challenge in November, where you get to see tourny-bound teams in the regular season. Hell, tOSU/Florida, even though it was a blowout on the court (hey, they nailed you guys in both sports), simply would not happen in college football unless it was a bowl game. Yeah, you do get things like Oregon/Oklahoma, or a slew of Pac-10 teams playing SEC teams, but outside of the very rare exception, its usually a top feeding team in one conference playing a bottom feeding team in the other.

But really, why would college football squads schedule any hard non-conference teams? In a sport where you're pretty much out if you lose your first game, why bother?

Reform the system.

We need an SEC/Big Ten challenge in College Football for one week of the regular season. It would rotate. -CSM

It wouldn't? Forget about the two Ohio State-Texas games in the past two years already?

Next year is Ohio State's only easy non-conference schedule for the next 8 years. Home and away series with USC in 08 and 09, Miami (FL) in 10 and 11, Cal in 12 and 13 and Virginia Tech 14 and 15. Even though it often makes or breaks our season, Tressel leads the way in scheduling BIG non-conference games, and I commend him for it.

They're the rare exception, and I think they only reason they do that is because the Big 10 is on a low stretch for football (tOSU *huge gap* UM *huge gap* Wisconsin *gap* everyone else).

Who's Michigan got? I know they have Notre Dame during Week 2 at Ann Arbor. They may have to finish up their Vandy series (I want the Wolverines to play someone harder), and hopefully the other two nonconference games shouldn't be against crappy MAC opponents. -CSM

Notre Dame pretty much every year. The only other "big" non conference game in the near future they have scheduled is Oregon, which I think is just the 2nd half of a home and away from a couple years ago IIRC.

Because you guys had to call Michigan overrated after the Rose Bowl, I feel like I am allowed to do this now:

How the hell can they be overrated? Saying they were overrated implies they didn't belong in the Championship game- you knew of a better matchup, Mr. Hindsight? Saying Ohio State was overrated sure takes a lot away from Florida's victory, doesn't it.

Well, you said that about Michigan, who just sucked that day. That's the point. It's not that OSU is overrated, it's that you guys made Michigan look overrated after one day when they played really really bad. -CSM

Michigan got skunked by USC and tOSU (they weren't really in that game and never had a lead). tOSU just got skunked by Fla.
