Because he's still a pompous douche. I don't give one rat's ass how great of a player he is; as long as he's a complete ass, I will hate him with every fiber of my being, and a ring isn't going to change that.

By the way, make sure Grossman gets his payoff from the Colts.

My reasoning sucks? Says the person whose logic goes along the lines of "ZOMG PEYTON IS TEH GREAT". I think he's a lousy person for the things he's said. Since when is that wrong? Mooning Tennessee's female athletic director, eh? There's a classy/intelligent move. Blaming your teammates for when you get sacked? Way to be a role model.

"You hear that little Timmy? When you get sacked in your peewee football game, don't blame yourself and try to improve your problems. It's much easier to just blame everyone else!"

And Manning is better than Marino why, because he won a ring? Sod off. Marino went up against the 49ers of the 1980s, a team which would have devestated Manning and his cement shoes. Like I said earlier, Ol' Peyton should be kissing Grossman's feet for throwing that game away. Peyton did nothing spectacular in that game. He never recovered any of the far too numerous turnovers given up by the Bears. He whined in attempts to have flags thrown for no reason at all. I even remember a specific instance in the game where he quit blocking for his RB when one Chicago LB was ahead. One, for Christ's sake. Even brain-damaged Roethlisberger makes attempts to stop and/or block. In 16 seasons, Marino threw for 61,361 yards and had a 5,084 season with players far from All Stars. Marino could've easily won with a team like the Colts.

Enjoy your gift from the great state of Illinois.

Petyon Manning bought a ring? I wonder who the lucky woman is. Her parents must not like him to be so critical.

I hate the Colts and Manning regardless of accomplishments

The Super Bowl is amateur hour and all of the scrub-fans come out of the woodwork.

Saying Manning is better than Marino is just factually wrong. Marino won and got to playoffs with mediocre players that disappeared off of the face of the planet after they left South Beach. Manning plays/ed with probowl and future hall of fame caliber players. Put Marino in his prime in this Colts system and he MIGHT lose one game.

Manning wasn't the MVP of that game, Addai was.

Manning didn't so much as win this game as the Bears gave it away. Horrific playcalling on both sides of the ball pretty much killed off this effort. I understand keeping your safeties back to respect the Colts passing, but doing it the entire game when Addai and Rhodes are slashing you to death is moronic, and not sending anyone but the line against Manning is suicide. Offensively, the Bears seemed like they just stopped caring once Benson went down. A few runs by Jones were nice, but waiting until the fourth quarter before even trying to chuck the ball deep on a suspect Colts defense is stupid.

Lovie is afraid of risks, and it shows in the playcalling. Rivera made a good case as to why Jerry Jones should throw his resume in the same trashcan as the random kid who sent one in saying he "pwns with da boyz in Madden." Granted, the D did their job. They made crucial stops and forced some turnovers. The offense played horrible, and Grossman was putting too much under the ball so it hung in the air too long and went short often.

I thought the reason you saw the Super Bowl in domes and otherwise sterile (read: not northern or midwestern climates) was to avoid slop games. I thought "excessive rain" was the reason there's a huge dome in New Orleans. Why is that stadium still standing anyway? It's probably one of the worst stadiums in TWO leagues (MLB and NFL), and its an eyesore.

Bears are who we thought they were, and this is a different game if the Colts are playing the Saints or Philly, two teams that can slap up the points on the board and play aggressively when attacking the quarterback. It might be a different game sans the rain, but that really wasn't a factor outside of the first quarter.

Mostly clean game from the officials, which was nice.

I had no problem with the Clots winning it. I do, however, have a problem with Manning being the MVP. Either Addai or Rhodes should have gotten it. They, not Manning, were the reason the Clots won. -CSM

I would have given the nod to Addai simply because he led the team in reception yards and pulled up critical rushing yards. Rhodes did get 100+ and the TD, but I think Addai was slightly more critical in breaking more first downs than Rhodes, thus keeping the Bears D on the field and the Bears O off the field.

I honestly think it was the pair of them that got the job done. My brother, who was also rooting for the Bears, said it should have gone to Rhodes, but I agree that it should have been Addai (he was the workhorse back). But Peyton? That was just wrong. -CSM

You realise Peyton gets sacked least than any player in the NFL! he presents it by droping back, and forward. When he gets sacked its normally not his fault.

Addai did well, but Domic Rhodes had more success running when it mattered, the end of the game. He pretty much shut ran it up the gut of one of the most physical teams in football. And got 100 + to boot.

Now that I think about it, I would pick Addai over Rhodes, mainly because Rhodes got second-hand duty, and started showing up just to beat up on a tired D that Addai pwned. Addai was multi-dimensional and all over the place.

Manning should not have won the MVP, we all know that, and anyone that believes it, needs to be smacked above their head. I'm proud of Dungy though, he deserved this way more than anyone else on that field (and now Booger Mac has two).

You argued my criticism of his civic personality with his athletic prowess. Not only that, but you misspelled the state that you're from. Wow. Just wow.

And the last time I checked, Indianapolis is in Indiana, hence the "gift from Illinois". It's true, really. Check out an atlas.

By the way, let's do some parallels. First, my impersonation of your generalizations.

No, go back and read some threads. People said Manning isn't good because he doesn't perform under pressure (1/6 in Redzone TDs, the one being a rush), can't perform at his standards in the postseason (bad career and 2006/7 postseason numbers), couldn't beat Florida at Tenn (horrific numbers in that one), isn't classy ("liquored up idiot kicker," blaming the line for sacks, mooning the AD), reads the papers too much, cries on the sideline when he makes bad plays, turns into a headcase when he plays certain players and New England (and don't fool yourself Clots fans, the reason the Pats lost was because Old Man Kraft got too cheap to pay for skilled receivers, throwing Brady out there with Scrubs, has beens and never were's). Not to mention Marino did the record thing with mediocre players, whereas Manning has had an all-star cast of players around him through his entire career.

If I'm building a franchise, I can rattle off a list of at least 5 QBs I'd take over him, (Brees, Brady, McNabb, Palmer, Alex Smith---yes you read that right, Alex Smith), possibly 10 if I decide to throw some really old guys in there (Farve).

Addai had 77 on 19 carries with 10 (!!!!) receptions for 66 yards. He led the team in receiving yards and would hit crucial plays out of the backfield either through draws or quick outs that turned situations into 2nd or 3rd and short or just first downs. Addai slashed apart the Bears D in both offensive games, and I think without Addai's play they don't control the ball nearly as long.
