NCAA conference tourney predictions

Who will win each conference?

Big East: As much as I want Cuse to win, I'm going to pick Pitt to win this one.

ACC: Going with Maryland. They're the hot team right now. I don't really see Fluke or UNC going anywhere this year.

SEC: I'm picking Tenessee. I know Florida's highly ranked, but they have to give at some point...

Big Ten: Still going with Wisconsin. They split the series with OSU, and their one big loss other than that was to Sparty.

Big 12: Kansas. I know they benefit from an easy division (Big 12 North hates basketball more than the SEC does), but they still have the best shot.

Pac-10: UCLA. Mbah a Moute. Nuff said.

Other conferences:

MVC: I'm going with underdog Bradley on this one.

MWC: UNLV

Conference USA: Memphis

WAC: Nevada

Copy and pasted from a pick em I'm in at another forum:

One Point Conferences
America East: Vermont
Atlantic Sun: ETSU
Big Sky: Northern Arizona
Big South: VMI
Big West: Cal Poly
MAAC: Niagara
MCC: Oakland
MEAC: Delaware State
NEC: Central Connecticut State
OVC: EKU
Southland: Lamar (oh yes)
SWAC: Mississippi Valley State
Sun Belt: Western Kentucky

Two Point Conferences
A-10: Xavier
C-USA: Memphis (I'd be absolutely stunned if they lost)
CAA: Old Dominion (toughie between ODU and VCU)
Horizon: Wright State (you better believe! Represent!)
MAC: Kent State
MVC: Southern Illinois
Mountain West: SDSU
Patriot: Bucknell
SoCon: App State
WAC: Nevada
WCC: Loyola-Marymount

Three Point Conferences
ACC: Boston College (crapshoot)
Big East: Louisville (look out for these guys, they're HOT)
Big 10: Ohio State (I actually think it’s slim chances, but I don’t want to live with the guilt of them winning it and me not picking them. Illinois is who I'm tempted to pick, since Wiscy won't have Butch)
Big 12: Texas A&M
Pac 10: USC
SEC: Florida (though UT is blowing them out as I type this)

Oh, and although I picked Lamar in the Southland, mainly because I hate picking too many favorites and they played Texas A&M Corpus Christi tough, if TA&M-CC holds on and goes to the tournament, they WILL play take somebody to the limit and play all 40, if not pull an upset.

SEC: Vandy
Big East: Georgetown
Big 10: Mich. State
Big 12: Texas
Pac 10: UCLA

Western's a good pick for the Sun Belt, but I think UNO may dark-horse through the Tourny. My alma-mater is rebuilding, so no Cajuns this year.

WCC: Gonzaga.

I'll update with the rest later.

App State becomes the first big conference favorite/bubble team to lose. Probably NIT bound.

VMI and the nation's leading offense is giving Winthrop more than they can ask for, down only one at half. Game is fun as hell to watch, mainly consists of VMI sprinting down the court with the ball, passing once and firing up a three. Out of around 35 people in the aforementioned Conference Pick Em Tourney I'm in, everyone picked Winthrop except me, who went with the Keydets, so naturally, I'm psyched about this.

Thank god, VCU holds off George Mason and keeps them from screwing a more deserving school (especially other CAA schools) out of an at-large big. Oh, and Eric Maynor is a freakin' stud muffin.

Changing two of my picks:

Changing my ACC pick to Virginia Tech. I don't like my BC pick since they'll more than likely have to play Maryland.

Also, since I noticed Lamar is matched up with Sam Houston State who beat them by 36 earlier this year, I'm taking the popular Texas A&M-CC in the Southland.

I'm really not sure which team I would favor in the Big East.

At least Kuhkrooksky's team when down in flames to a scrubsquad.

Duke = 8/9 team, if not lower now.

Damn, tough break for A&M. Oh well. Dropped a seed. If they can't do the same with a 3 seed as with a 2 they woudn't have made it far anyway. All up to the tournament now.

After the way Georgetown played tonight, I think they deserve a one seed, especially if O$U looses tomorrow to Wisconsin. -CSM
