Memphis @ UAB

February 16th, we're basically Memphis's biggest threat in conference play, we upset them when they were #1 a few years back. We're even better now, and Bartow Arena will be sold out for this huge game, if you have CSS or CSTV, make sure you watch the game and look for me in the Student Section.

You go to Houston now?

Either way, the only time Memphis could possibly lose in the regular season is 2/23 against Tennessee, and I think they're going to win that handily. They're just way too good, they practically have seven starters and are incredibly deep for the average mid-major/bubble team to hang with them.

I'm worried, actually, about Duke being ranked number 1 (which would be a sin against mankind), so I don't know if I'll be rooting for UAB this time because the last thing that needs to happen is Duke getting ranked number one. -CSM

^^ You're a funny man.

If it wasn't for terrible road play, we'd be looked at as a top team in the nation right now, we'll be making the tourney, you can bet on that, and we'll be making some noise knocking off Memphis.

Disagree, I think Tennessee is going to handle Memphis

Duke being number 1 would kick ass. Because if they retain it and grab a top 4 seed, they'll be EVERYONE's bracket pick (except me) and everyone will bust out by the sweet 16 (except me). Yes. I realize I'm saying this when the Number 1 seed this year is in like Raleigh and Charlotte.

Bad losses yes, but as I've said, we're terrible on the road (something that should be fixed next season), if you look, none of those are at home, and the closest game we've had at home was last night against UTEP. That's the only game that wasn't decided with at least 5 minutes to go.

We suck on the road, but we kick ass at home, Memphis is coming to our place, Bartow will be sold out (9K strong, most since Obama came to town three weeks ago). Memphis came in and got ass-smacked two years ago, they should be expecting the same thing this season, not to mention a brutal ass student section that has gotten into the minds of several opposing players this season (when they turn and start arguing with you, you've done your job).

Right. And if I'm the committee that's a bad thing to be, especially considering your only two wins in the Top 100 are Kentucky when they were god awful and Cincinnati who just isn't that great a basketball team.

Beat Houston and don't get blown out of the gym by Memphis, then we'll talk.

I doubt UAB's gonna get in. Even if they do factor in the wins more than they do losses, the fact of the matter is there are going to be at LEAST three teams from the A-10 in, most likely there will be more than that. The WCC looks like it could get two bids, and the CAA could very well get two teams in if someone other than VCU or George Mason wins the tourney. -CSM

Houston should be a good one, and trust me, if UAB plays their hearts out for one game, it's Memphis, we refused to be embarrassed by one of the ****tiest cities in the country.

BULLL****,

Two things cost us the game:
1. Referees
2. Lack of focus at the wire (also known as choking)

I can't believe MDII tried to do some stupid **** like that, let him get the shot, and take your last 7 seconds to win the game.

We blew it, Memphis got lucky, they know it, that's why they were getting ready to get their ass kicked by our football squad after the game.

25-0 my ass.

^We may have blew this game, but expect Houston to get their ass handed to them on Wednesday.

If anything, this game showed that we are a good team, and can hang with the best of the best, give us a shot in the tournament, and I'm sure we'll be a sleeper.

As far as the audience goes, my God, that was the loudest I've ever heard an arena get. My friend (who goes to Memphis) called and told me you could really hear the energy throughout the whole game. Expect the same level of volume Wednesday!

GO BLAZERS!

After seeing the highlights, UAB got freakin robbed by the Zebras. Way to call a BS walk and BS block but not call anything for UAB. Memphis and the refs deserved the garbage and threats they got walking out of the arena.

This game shows that Memphis is going to not only lose to Tennessee, but also likely be the first 1 seed eliminated in March.

I agree this time. This is probably the only time I'm going to agree that UAB fans had every right to be pissed off and hurl insults directly at the Memphis players. Mostly because of this VERY poorly called game.

Every single year this happens. We see that Memphis gets a seed much higher than they deserve and they go down quickly. -CSM
