Just specifically, why Anaheim in the AL? |

The Angels have a good record, but they're playing far beyond themselves and have the RS/RA differential to show for it. They've been "luckier" than Oakland, who has a near identical P-W/L. White Sox have a terrible road down the stretch and play most of their games against teams in the postseason hunt. Detroit OTOH has an easy road and will probably win the AL Central after stumbling out of the gate. Detroit is still hemmoraging runs, but they're putting up more runs like they're supposed to do and they don't have nearly as many series against contenders as the Twins or ChiSox have. The Brewers will finish 3rd in the division behind the Cubs/Cards. Yost is the 4th best manager in the NL Central, and his team isn't good enough to deal with a team with a +100 run differential (Cubs) or a team with a better rotation (both Cards and Cubs). Calling anything in July a "meltdown" is beyond insanity and trespasses into stupidity territory. What the Mets did last year in the last two months was a "meltdown." And the Yankees will probably win the East, so I'm not sure what the hell you're talking about. They're a historically stronger second half team, and are one of 5 MLB teams with a winning road record (only one in the AL East). Tampa is fools gold and won't be able to keep up with the Yanks and Sox. Also, the Yankee fans in NYC proper (or Cubs fans in Chicago) outnumber what some fanbases have total. | |

Although I kinda hope the Cubs fail again too. But I have no real reason for rooting against the Cubs. -jay |

Yanks acquire Pudge Rodriguez from Detroit for Kyle Farnsworth. Angels move is good, but only if they get to the World Series. Should improve lineup protection for their power hitters and hopefully jolt their offense. Pudge trade benefits both teams. Farnsworth stabilizes the Tigers pen and clears out the catcher position for Inge. On the Yanks side of things, Pudge brings veteran leadership and proven catching abilities to replace Jorge, who was shelved for the year with a medical procedure. |

ManRam to the Dodgers, Bay to the Red Sox and the Pirates get a bunch of prospects. ------------------------ Brewers fail the tools of the world (ESPN, CSM) that thought they could make noise in a 4-game homestretch against the Cubs. They've been curbstomped for 4 games and outscored 31-11. Brewers are now 5 back. Last edited by Lurch1982; 07-31-2008 at 04:03 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Close out Shea after another collapse for the ages. Why is their GM not ****canned yet? Lame CSM dream of an angels/Brewers WS still marginally alive (that would seriously be unwatchable), though I'm not sure the Angels lucked out pulling the Red Sox. God the Mets are so horrible, and the only thing worse are their lame fans. |

Your team has done that twice, while mine went into the playoffs. Hard to talk **** when your team crashed out before the regular season ended. Crawl back under your rock. Mets are epic failures. Worst regular season chokejobs and like the 5th team in the first city. |
