Gender: Posts: 10,791 Thanks: 1,019 Thanked 686 Times in 467 Posts | It's official: Lloyd Carr is retiring (THANK YOU GOD) Carr stepping down as Wolverines coach - Yahoo! News I think it's time for change at Michigan. As of right now, we can't beat Tressel and we need someone who can do that. But beating the Buckeyes and winning bowl games takes second fiddle to a fresh start for Michigan. And by a "Fresh Start" I mean we have to move past the Bo era. It's for this reason I'm a little ambiguous to get Les Miles to come and coach. -CSM |

"Wet rain" ![]() Time to trade in your old Carr for one with Les Miles. ... I'm punny. Rumor is Miles' wife has been house shopping around A2, though she claims it's "for a friend". Bring on Les, Tressel's already proved he can completely out coach him in a game where Ohio State was pegged as the massive underdog (04 Alamo Bowl). I think that the scUM fans are just so fed up with Lllllloyd (jesus, that's getting hard to type out) that even the illogical starts to look logical. Miles is not that special- he reminds a bit of Weis, arrogant and living off the talent of others (Pellini, Crowton, the LSU players he inherited). What happened to Lloyd Carnage making sure the job was given to someone from within? JT 6-1 Last edited by ShyGuy727; 11-18-2007 at 07:36 PM. |

ESPN - Michigan gets permission to talk to LSU's Miles - College Football So when he underachieves against tOSU, is he going to be called LLLLLes Miles or Les MiLLLLLLLes? I understand the move, and if he can go back to Michigan I totally support it. But I think he's horrifically overrated, especially when looking at his LSU squads and how badly they've underachieved. |

Lloyd Carr is incredibly conservative. Les Miles is incredibly aggressive. You can't have either extreme. -CSM |

He has balls when it comes to 4 & whatever, but really, his teams shouldn't have been in that position in the first place, at least not this year or last year. Russell was part of the problem last year. Dude was anti-clutch in big games. Miles, however, has been sitting on a team that in the hands of a better coach would have gone undefeated for almost two years, especially with that D. |

It wasn't going to be close because ND wasn't going to handle an SEC defense period, let alone a top 1 or 2 D in the country. Russell vs. Florida (Loss): 24/41 228, 1 TD to 3 picks Russell vs. Auburn (Loss): 20/35, 269, 0 TD, 0 INT Russell vs. Tenn (Win): 24/36 247 3 TD, 3 INT They played 5 ranked teams: FLA (Loss), Auburn (Loss), Tenn (Close win), Ark (Win) and ND (Win). Ark was meaningless to everyone but Ark, and ND didn't belong in the Sugar Bowl. He bungled the Auburn and Florida games and nearly bungled the Tenn game. He blew up scrub teams for the rest of the year to bloat his stats. |
