Sean Taylor (24) dies from gunshot wound

Redskins' Sean Taylor dies after being shot

A young life taken by unnecessary violence, the man who did this is a coward, plain and simple. Prayers to the Taylor family, and especially his one-year old daughter who now will be growing up without her father.

Wilbon's an ass.

Special Spot in Hell Reserved for Wilbon | Mr. Irrelevant

"I know how I feel about Taylor, and this latest news isn’t surprising in the least, not to me. Whether this incident is or isn’t random, Taylor grew up in a violent world, embraced it, claimed it, loved to run in it and refused to divorce himself from it. He ain’t the first and won’t be the last. We have no idea what happened, or if what we know now will be revised later. It’s sad, yes, but hardly surprising."

RIP

^^But Wilbon is slightly right. Taylor did embrace that world, until his daughter was born, many of his teammates said that you began to notice a change for the good in him, however, he still couldn't get out of all that. I would not be surprised in the least if this stemmed from something in his past.

He did grow up in Miami, that in itself says something.

That doesn't mean he had it coming to him...no one deserves to be murdered.

And from what I hear, Taylor hardly ever, ever talked to the media, I don't understand how Wilbon is claiming he knew the guy.

I'm not defending Wilbon's comments to the fullest, just that statement. I don't think he deserved to die, and I think whoever did this deserves to rot in jail for the rest of his life. Also Wilbon and Kornheiser both know a lot of players, it's what they do.

Wilbon never said that he had it coming to him in that quote.

Anyway, this is a truly sad loss. It's so disheartening to see people dying over such trivial things.

Wilbon's comment isn't meant to say he deserved it. It's meant to say that a lot of people do the same thing he did, which is continue to run in the streets even though they know they're beyond that. When you're passed having to live with your parents, the projects, and hanging out with the wrong crowd, etc. should no longer be a part of your life. I think the quote was meant to say to the people still out there that this life isn't the way to go, and you can't just divorce yourself from it the minute something good happens in your life.

RIP Taylor, truly a great player, and a great character trying to change his life.

Wilbon made it seem like he was a gang banging raping pillaging thug up who died in a shootout on a street corner over a heroin deal gone bad.

It was just a brash and knee-jerk statement- I don't think there's enough evidence right now for Wilbon or anybody to be convicting Taylor's past and lifestyle of this crime.

Not so much what he said, just how and when he said it. He could have just said "This may have been Taylor's past creeping back up on him" and everything would have been fine. He would get that point across, and he wouldn't have looked like a ****head

That said:

I don't see the problem with Wilbon's comments. This is the same dude that pulled a gun on someone for allegedly stealing his SUV which later got his SUV peppered by an AK-47.

The fact that the phone lines were cut on this incident and that last week he had a break in where they left a knife on his bed doesn't really make this seem like some random isolated incident. That's some godfather type ****.

He didn't deserve to die, but I don't think he should be made out to be this great nice innocent guy that's never been deep in situations like that.
