College football 2008 lives here.

It's starting! Here's how the college football season will go down:

Big East: West Virginia will win handedly and play in the NC game.

ACC: Clemson will win the ACC easily and go to the Orange Bowl.

SEC: Georgia will win and go to the NC game, and Florida will go to the Sugar Bowl.

Big Ten: No, not THE University of Ohio State. It's Illinois. They'll finally come of age and go to the Rose Bowl.

Big XII: No, not Oklahoma. Mizzou. They'll have a fiesta. The Big XII is a lot weaker than everyone makes it out to be because of everyone's creampuff schedules.

Pac-10: No, not USC. Arizona State. USC is too weak offensively (although they have the best defense in the nation), and ASU is well balanced.

Mountain West: Utah and BYU will compete hard, and one of them will go to a BCS bowl, most likely the Orange Bowl.

WAC: If Fresno State can win its out of conference schedule, you may see them in a BCS bowl as well.

Conference USA: East Carolina will finally bring some respect to the C-USA east.

Indies: Navy will once again be the top indie.

Bowl predictions:

NC game: Georgia over WVU

Rose Bowl: ASU over Illinois

Fiesta Bowl: Mizzou over Pitt (yes, the Big East IS a quality conference).

Sugar Bowl: Florida over Oklahoma

Orange Bowl: BYU over Clemson

Illinois?

They lost the guy that led their offense, the guy that led their 83rd ranked pass defense, and now basically have a wide receiver behind center with a new and untested running game to take try and take the load off. 7 wins at best, I could see them finishing as low as 8th in the conference. If you wanted to be chic and trendy, you should've just picked Michigan State as your darkhorse like everyone else.

I'll just say that USC's 4th stringers would start on the majority of teams in the country.

You know the East won the conference last year right?

I take back what I said about Juice. At least this weekend. 27-for-41 for 452 yards. Damn son.

And man the ACC is sad. Something is wrong when your best win is Duke beating JMU is your best win of the day.

We almost took a complete **** on Tulsa, I would have been so happy to open up the season upsetting the #2 team in the conference (I know, #2 in CUSA doesn't mean much, but coming off a 2-10 season, it means a lot to us). We got screwed over in exactly 6 calls (2 facemask tackles that caused fumbles, 1 horse-collar tackle that did the same, one interception that hit the ground, and one touchdown catch that got reversed) and if those were called right (At least TWO of them) it's a whole different ball game. We were in it until the last 5 minutes of the game.

Here's hoping we pull out a win @ FAU.

^Well hopefully you can stop ECU, who looks like they want to compete on the national stage. Hot damn, did you see that game yesterday?

So much for Pitt. USC I think will make a BCS game...but not the Rose Bowl or the NC game. I'd like to see a Florida-USC matchup in the Sugar Bowl. USC is so overdue for playing SEC stalwarts.

And as for Michigan, I kind of expected a lot worse. -CSM

Having ECU emerge as a threat helps our conference out as a whole, because rather than having one respectable team (Tulsa at the beginning of last season), we now have 5 (Tulsa, ECU, UCF, Houston, Southern Miss hell, now even SMU is getting attention....granted it's because of June Jones, but still). Not to mention that a couple of other teams are starting to prove that they aren't complete **** (UAB, yes, UAB, Rice, Memphis, Marshall).

The fact that that upset was barely a blip on the national radar and received hardly any press (if at all) shows just how far that program has dropped off the face of the earth.

I'm highly upset because we could've pulled off a HUGE comeback today, down 21-3 only to rally within 8 with 2 minutes to go. Our defense needs to step up, I think there's no question that we can score, if our defense can just make 2-3 stops a game there's no reason why we can't run with some of the better teams.

It'll be interesting to see if we can truly rack up points against a good team (Tennessee).

There is no way Georgia can have less than 2 losses and make it to the National Championship.

^HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Mizzou isn't going to face anything this year that's called a "defense." They have the 61st toughest schedule in the nation; Georgia has the third toughest. -CSM

Yeah, the third toughest means that they will lose too many to make it to the National Championship game. And just because Mizzou's scedule is easy doesn't mean they can't play against better teams that were on their schedule.

We don't know what UGA will do. They're putting up points that a number 1 or 2 team will put up on non-BCS teams; now the rest of the schedule is BCS teams. -CSM

USC is currently stomping the **** out of Ohio State. Apparently it isn't just the SEC that dominates tOSU. At least this should get them knocked out of any Big Game at the End talk early so we don't have to watch another ****ty OSU blowout.

Pathetic showing by tOSU. 35-3. You know the Little 10 is **** when Herbstreit is piling on the conference for being overrated and overexposed.
