ESPN drops ad campaign that was to portray college stereotypes - USATODAY.com Syracuse and Maryland are among the selected schools. Syracuse fans are described as Long Island Jews with eating disorders (hey, I'm a Jersey Jew with an eating disorder, that was offensive). Maryland fans are described as lacrosse players who wear baseball hats and chinos (sounds about a third like me). Frankly, this campaign is all a huge lie. Look at some of them. Notre Dame fans are described as Asian males who can't stop fighting. Not only is that offensive, it's blatantly false. Notre Dame fans are people who don't follow any sports at all but just follow the team on TV every week. They said Louisville was Hispanic. That doesn't even make the slightest bit of sense. The Tennessee one did make sense, as did the Duke one (and the Nova one). The Carolina one doesn't though. This whole campaign is offensive and lame. The Memphis one was very, very racist. So, you know what that means, time to make up your own for the schools they missed! They missed out on WEST VIRGINIA, the ENTIRE Pac-10 and MVC, the SEC that's not Tennessee (yes, even Kentucky wasn't there), Indiana, UNLV, Utah, St. Joe's, NC State, Wake Forest, UAB, and UTEP (those are the only other big basketball schools I can think of at the moment that weren't covered). -CSM (I'd make up some for football, but most of them would be very anti-deep South). |

Pretty damn accurate, southern black kid, taking offense to that is like telling a Shaq he should whoop somebody's ass for calling him tall. |
