Ladies and gentlemen...

...Matt Cassel is actually a good quarterback now. Too bad the Pats won't be able to afford him next year.

One good week makes him a good QB?

He's had several good weeks. Remember, even Tom Brady had some clunkers early on.

Considering the big shoes Cassel has to fill, he's performing admirably.

Don't trust it, he'll get a big contract and people will expect God-like numbers out of him, only for him to not meet those expectations.

Look at his supporting cast, with all those tools, he's only had above average performances, even Michael Vick had good passing performances with Dez White and Peerless Price, and we know he wasn't the best passer. Cassel will be an average starting quarterback somewhere for a team that overpays him based on 1-2 games this year. The difference between he and Matt Schaub is that Schaub had stellar performances with sub-par players, the only thing holding him back from starting in Atlanta was Vick's running ability.

Agree. Cassel hasn't shown himself to be much more than the product of a system. I could put Jared Lorenzen in the Pats system and he'd look impressive throwing the ball to Moss and Welker. Some chump-team is going to overpay and they're going to be set back for a few years.
