I can't wait for the Yankees to continue sucking and then have to face backlash for blowing all their money. Splurging on big names does not cover up the fact that they have sub-standard pitching.

I'll laugh when the Yankees don't even make the postseason.

don't hate because we have roughly 25% of all the WS trophies, and yes our rotation is sagging, thats why we went out and got CC

in all seriousness, we need to freaking develope a goodamn farm system, gotta get some youth in there...

unless we get struck by injuries, there is no way we miss the playoffs this year.

not to mention that we get our new stadium... do some research.

You guys ever get that feeling when you want a team to win that you hate?

That's the deal with me and the Red Sox this year.

By the way, Rays are gonna suck again this year. Last year was just a wake up call.

Thinking about becoming a Yankees fan this year. At least the management on that club acts like they give a damn about winning.

There was no way the Tigers would miss the playoffs last year with the new lineup they had.

OH WAIT THEY MISSED THE PLAYOFFS.

More dependable players, calmer front-office, amazing fans and constant sell-out crowds that give the players a constant mental boost...

Also, the Sox don't seem to be stricken by the injury curse that a lot of teams (including the Yankees) have had to contend with.

I can't help but think he's going to get injured really quickly with the Yankees.

Notice when the Tigers went out and got Willis last year, he wasnot dependable. I can see the same thing happening to Sabathia.

Wrong.

Willis' WHIP was going up, his HR given up (in a low hitting division at the time) were going up, his ERA wasn't spectacular, etc. He had also never been out of the NL East and went into a division that had several teams 10+ deep in terms of deepball hitters, not to mention the other teams in the AL.

Sabathia's WHIP has dropped every year, ERA has dropped, HR allow has stayed the same, and dominated in both leagues against teams that were insanely deep.

I mean, I could say "OH SABATHIA IS GOING TO IMPLODE," but there's absolutely no evidence suggesting that. The only thing I'd be concerned with is the amount of wear and tear the hapless Brewers put on his arm down the stretch.

I don't know, buying Sabathia and Burnett really looks like they addressed their substandard pitching. Rotation now looks like: Sabathia, Wang, Burnett, ?, ?, with Pettitte and Lowe potentially on the radar. Those three enough (if healthy) is enough to win that division. Texiera and Swisher were both huge hitting acquisitions. Texiera should effectively replace Giambi's diminishing returns and will likely pay off over the course of his contract, while Swisher should effectively replace the aging Johnny Damon.

I'm not really sure how anyone can criticize the Yank's offseason. They actually made the right moves.

Boston's front office is generally pretty good. Problem with your argument is that they were second place to NYY in their big three FA signings (in Sabathia, Tex, and Burnett). Also, like the Yanks aren't selling out every game, right? The Sox have major holes. They're going to have a production hole after running ManRam out of town, they're going to face catching problems because Veritek was overrated 5 years ago, let alone now, and they're going to have problems in the infield because Mike Lowell is starting to show his age.

Even I'm afraid the Yankees might do it again..... (They'll probably get three good years out of CC)

(Though we addressed our biggest issue this offseason too) -CSM

Aaaand after finally seeing off of the worst player in baseball in Corey Patterson, the Reds go off and sign a two-year deal with another speedy, lead-off center fielder that can't hit for ****. .603 OPS .306 OBS in Coors freaking field last year. Ugh. Wake me when it's over.
