College Basketball 09

Well since their really wasn't a college basketball thread where I could brag about how awsome that Mizzou-KU game was, I'll just make one.

MIZZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU

^I'm a fan of Michigan hoops, and Syracuse, Maryland, and Georgia hoops. I hate Georgetown and Duke, and most west coast teams.

I also hate that Memphis and Kansas are ranked higher than Syracuse; even though their records are better, and Syracuse beat them, they didn't play in the Big East. -CSM

Both have higher RPI, more quality wins, better what have you done for me lately, etc.

I'll try to do this:

Big East:

Louisville, Pitt, UConn, Nova, Marquette, Syracuse, West Virginia, Providence

ACC:

UNC, Duke, Clemson, Wake, FSU, Boston College

SEC:

LSU, Tennessee

Big Ten:

Sparty, Illinois, Purdue, OSU, Wisconsin, PSU, Michigan, Minnesota

Big XII:

Kansas, Mizzou, Oklahoma, Okie State, Texas A&M, Texas

Pac-10:

Washington, UCLA, Azzou, Cal, Arizona

MWC:

Utah, BYU, UNLV, New Mexico

A-10:

Xavier, Dayton

WCC:

Gonzaga, SMC (edit: SMC is out now that they got their ass whooped by Gonzaga and Cleveland State stole a bid away)

Horizon:

Butler, Cleveland State

All other conferences get one bid (South Carolina, Auburn, SMC, or Florida could possibly take Providence's place). -CSM

^Funny how IU and Iowa are the only two teams in the Big Ten not to be talked about still this year....like it or not, the Big Ten is deep. Mind it really has no juggernauts outside of Sparty, but it's probably what you would describe as "bottom-light." -CSM

^Davidson spiraled downhill at the end of the year and then lost in the semis of its conference tournament to...runner up College of Charleston. No Davidson this year. Look for Siena to be that team. -CSM

Why would you think they would be in? Terrible SOS, one quality win, 1-4 against RPI top 100- hello NIT.

I don't know; I haven't seen them play. They have the record to be in, but their RPI is an abysmal 77, and their SOS is even worse (116!) If Syracuse didn't deserve to be in 2 years ago, K-State deserves even less so this year. At least South Carolina is in the RPI top 50 (although their SOS still sucks; blame the crap-for-ball SEC). Auburn has both a better RPI and SOS (still bad though).

As of right now, Providence, Arizona, and UNLV are all out of my bracket, and SDSU, South Carolina, and Temple are in. -CSM
