Awww-riiiight. You beat an underachieving squad that's basically lost out in conference!

You left out the part on threadjacking it to include lacrosse or trains.

Even rivalries are irrelevant when one of the teams flat out can't win. This isn't blind CSM bashing, I harass, for example, LSU people bragging when they blow out Tulane (OMG RIVALRY), or *NFC North fan/Thanksgiving day winner* for bragging about blowing out the Lions.

^^Syracuse-Georgetown isn't like LSU-Tulane. Syracuse's "rivalries" with Colgate and Cornell are more like LSU-Tulane (although Cornell in lacrosse is actually important, but there are other traditional games SU plays during the lax season that are so lobsided they're more like the LSU-Tulane rivalry, such as Albany, Binghamton, and Hobart, and I've been clamoring for all these games' removals). SU-Georgetown is the premier basketball rivalry of the Big East, and Georgetown is usually good (remember the past two years? They were 2-seeds those years). Just because one school in a rivalry is having a down year doesn't make the rivalry less intense. It's like, say, Michigan-Ohio State this past fall. You can't deny the intensity of that rivalry year in and year out, no matter how much of a down year one of the schools has.

Brandon: Ask any Syracuse fan what school they hate the most, and they'll say Georgetown. -CSM

You knew the point and ignored it. Maybe the better one to throw out would have been Wake vs UNC State/UNC/Duke. Wake is usually mediocre, and when NC State/UNC/Duke beats them (esp. at home), nobody gives a ****. Nobody says "OH **** YOU WAKE FOREST YOU SUCK." You beat a team with a losing conference record and a squad that's been rampantly underachieving. This is about as obnoxious as the mullet-sporting Alabama retards going ape**** because they beat Auburn this year in football.

I'd also be terrified that Syracuse almost **** themselves at home to Georgetown.

^Lurch (and Brandon), consider reading this:

Auburn-Bama is one of the greatest football rivalries. Of course the winner is going to go ape**** crazy no matter what the situation. Same with Michigan-Ohio State (notice how many signs at OSU's NC games taunted Michigan?), USC-UCLA, Texas-OU, what have you. -CSM

You misunderstood me. I wasn't replying at all to the argument you guys were having..I was more or less just commenting that I like Uconn and they're doing well. I know Syracuse and Georgetown are rivals....

So, in baseball fan terms, this would be like me cheering the Dodgers winning against the Giants when the Giants were doing the worst in their division?
