Beyond Louisville being the national champ, this bracket will be very difficult to fill out. Right now the only thing they got wrong was Arizona's inclusion after dropping 4 of 5 at the expense of SMC (and I believe Zona could actually win their first round game!). Beyond that these matchups are very intriguing. It's gonna take me a long time to fill out this bracket. -CSM (please Syracuse, last time you were a 3 seed you won the tourney. Don't let me down!) (edit: about Arizona, I am now convinced they should be in because Duke Vitale is flipping out about it). Last edited by Crazyswordsman; 03-15-2009 at 06:07 PM. |

Arizona getting in was the committee's only big mistake, they were more around the 67-69 line, not 63-65. Utah and Oklahoma State were the two big overseedings. |

SMC did the best they could to schedule road games (and won most of them), but no big name schools wanted to play them for fears of losing. It sucks being a mid major. These teams clearly can get things done but nobody ever lets them. Arizona, meanwhile, gets credit for scheduling supertanks but they only seem to win when the tanks come to the desert. They couldn't beat any quality teams on the road out of conference (or in conference for that matter). My other gripe is with people still talking about Memphis. They won't get past Mizzou. Last time Memphis played a quality opponent they lost....at HOME! And if Conference USA is supposed to be tough why was Tulsa never brought up as a bubble team? All I can say right now is: GO SIENA. GO VCU. SHUT PEOPLE UP. -CSM (I'd root for Temple, but I want to see a Syracuse-Azzou matchup BADLY (or Syracuse against ANYONE in the Pac-10 so they can shut it up)) edit: Louisville, Pitt, UNC, and Mizzou are my Final Four. It's the media (read: ESPN) and Memphis who make this claim. Here's something that's worse than Arizona getting in over St. Mary's. They made it so Siena was stuck playing Louisville in the second round. I was going to put Siena in the Sweet 16 if they were given a 10 or 11 seed. But the NCAA tournament doesn't like that Siena is good and gave them a seeding for an early exit if they get past tOSU (which I have them doing). This is further proof of the committee hating those mid-majors that DO schedule well even if they lose. How are mid-majors supposed to schedule tough if the tough teams won't play them? -CSM |

Well Memphis is overrated, and I think we all know how to beat UConn now. Just call up Jim Boeheim. Missouri is the best team in that bracket hands down. -CSM |

ESPN doesn't give anyone in CUSA EXCEPT Memphis credit, and Memphis (at least the fans) try to act like there is no one in CUSA that can touch them, despite the fact that it took the help of the refs to help them beat us the last two years. Hell, if the tourney was held anywhere else BUT Memphis they probably wouldn't win it. |

And they give Memphis a ton of credit that they won't give to teams from other conferences in similar situations (run through the conferences and then go out and play teams OoC). -CSM |

Also, Kristof! was sidelined but Syracuse still won. Hopefully he'll be better by Sunday when Syracuse takes on Arizona State (Sparky). We need him (and Paul Harris) to help out on D against big Pandergraph. This matchup is about proving the east coast is infinitely better than the west coast. -CSM |
