That's what I think, anyway. |

Now we just need to rid the world of Marv Albert, Lou Holtz, Dick Vitale and Joe Buck. (and get rid of Quint in college lacrosse but I'm probably the only one on this forum who cares about the exponentially increasingly popular sport). -CSM |

A legend. I thought the only way to get him out the booth would have had to be for him to die. Good luck with the rest of your life John! Also, screw Collinsworth, he's a douche. |

I know it's all opinion, but still, I'm not a fan of anyone that has a tendency to not only talk down to players but the audience at times. |

| Senior Member | Madden was a staple to NFL. How can you not like John Madden? He acted like that on purpose and was the most enthusiastic NFL announcer in my opinion. Someone who loves football that much shouldn't be criticized for it. Hell, the NFL games were named after Madden. |

He says something funny every day that he DIDN'T USE BEFORE, let alone about 800 times. And I'm sure there are a lot of sportscasters who love and know a lot about their sport without being cliche. Len Elmore, Dan Schulmann, Bob Costas, and Jim Nantz are just a few. -CSM |

Also, unless I missed something that senile toothless old man Holtz doesn't actually broadcast games. You would. Collinsworth, while better than Michaels, is freaking horrible. Actually, the NFL hasn't really had a good TV commentator since Howard Cosell. Madden was the best, and that doesn't say much because I think he dumbed the thing down a little too much for my tastes. With the NFL, the best guys are the homer radio announcers. Last edited by Lurch1982; 04-23-2009 at 01:30 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost | |

The current MNF is pretty entertaining, but at times (often) get annoying. The only team I care for happens to be the FOX team that usually covers the "less important game" (I.E. Atlanta), whoever the team is with Baldy. |
