No "Power six" nations (France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Brazil, and Argentina) in our group. The groups do look pretty even. Group A looks the toughest (France and Uruguay). I'm pumped for the World Cup; the problem is I can never watch it because of the time difference meaning the games are on while I'm working. -CSM |

Also, holding it in South Africa is pretty much insulting. Over under five people kidnapped/murdered. The Olympics in Rio are a safer bet. Repeating that scene in Harlem with the sign from Die Hard 3 is a safer bet. Get a DVR or get lots of coffee. |

Looks like they actually might have a shot at doing well this year. That is, if Ian Broudie updates "Three Lions" again this year. |

Last World Cup I literally watched every single game and though I don't intend to do the same this time around I'm sure I'll be glued to the TV set day after day after glorious day. Those'll get you into the game. I wasn't expecting the US to win, either a tie or England winning by 1. Tie's better, so I'm good. |

I mean, it's noble and cute and all, but you're on a high speed train to disappointment. [/trashtalking] |

Though you're right. USA Soccer has been saying the same crap since the 70s and it never pays off. They still play passive and refuse to use any strengths to their advantages. Playing not to lose does not work. | |

Only consistent part of the game was Tim Howard (and Onyewu's fantastic beard. You guys saw that, right? Holy **** I want one like that) Also, I saw the first half of the Portugal/Ivory Coast game. Portugal looked awful. Just terrible. Also one of my friends called Ivory Coast a bunch of babies. The entire team combined probably didn't whine as much as Ronaldo. |

I know how I'd feel if that was us playing, I'd be gutted. I think a draw between England and Algeria tonight will be your best result. What say you Americans? |
