Olympics topic. Because Winter Olympics >>>> Summer Olympics

What are you looking forward to? Personally I'm looking forward to all the skiing events (downhill, Super G, Slalom, and freestyle). -CSM

Someone died during training today.

Not even a day in and these Olympic games are a bummer.

I don't really plan on watching the Olympics at all, but I caught the opening ceremony last night, and I have to say, K.D. Lang's performance of 'Hallelujah' is one of the most psychotic things I've ever seen on TV.

I love snowboarding. That said, I'd rather do it than watch it. Too bad I moved to WA. >_>

Too bad they're bumping USA/Canada (you know, the de facto NHL allstar game) off network TV for ice dancing.

NBC is about 20 years behind other networks in how they handle this event.

CBS would probably have decent online coverage, but they don't have enough TV networks to really keep it going on TV. Don't see them bumping anything off of Comedy Central, MTV/VH1/BET, or Nick for Olympics.

ABC/ESPN is the better choice. Ton of existing networks, online infrastructure in place, smarter executives.

is it just me or would figure skating be improved by making it a competitive combat sport
you'd attach an epee to each arm at a 90 degree angle from the limb
so when they leapt and spun it'd be like human battle tops

^^ ignoring the humour entirely, that would make pretty much everything in figure skating impossible.

Plushenko comes back into the sport just to get his panties in a bunch. Sort of met the guy, once. Way too into himself to be any kind of real person, and even more way too into his precious quads. <_<

Saw figureskating once and this guy had a huge ass, add a very skintight spandex laughed a long time because it looked like he had shoved two bowlingballs in there.

There was a crash in skiing for an American. She suffered a broken pinkie.
