I think soccer's gonna become more violent than football soon.

NFL talks tough on hits, to mull kickoff changes - ESPN

These are now defined as "defenseless."

Quote:
• QB in act of throwing
• Receiver trying to catch pass
• Runner in grasp with forward progress stopped
• Player fielding punt or kickoff
• Kicker or punter during kick
• QB after change of possession
• Receiver who receives blind-side block
• Player already on ground
Also, they want to move the kickoff to the 35 yard line and bring touchbacks out to the 25, make all scoring plays reviewable and take away the third challenge.

Seriously, what the hell is going on? -CSM

Goodell is ruining the damn game, yes, you don't want players to take unnecessary hits, but he's going way too far with it. At some point you might as well throw flags on players, he started off as a great commish, then sometime after 2008 he decided to change the league instead of moderating it.

Player fielding a punt or kick I can understand, punter or kicker during a kick I can understand, and a player on the ground I can understand. But all the other ones? Seriously? You're supposed to hit a QB while he's throwing. That's how you get turnovers. You're supposed to hit a receiver while he's trying to make a catch. That's how you cause incompletions. And a QB after a change of possession? If he doesn't want to get hurt, run off the field, otherwise he's a defender same as anyone else and shouldn't be babied. Especially if he's trying to make a tackle.

Might as well give all QBs and Wide Receivers red jerseys and bring on the college rules for downing a player if it's going to get this ridiculous.

I mean, Zdeno Chara can get away with practically trying to kill a guy in hockey and not even get a fine, yet you can barely breath on people in football anymore without getting docked a game check or two plus 15 yards.

And I hope no one misunderstands what I'm trying to say here. I'm in no way advocating what Chara did, in fact I've always disliked him, thought he was a dirty player and most definitely think he should have been suspended for that. I'm simply saying that the NFL is getting waaaaaaay too uptight about how you hit people.

Soccer will also become more violent than football because of this man:

Luis Suarez.
My new favorite striker, by the way.

Well, I can't resist now.

Also, breaks will be called after the 3rd quarter for nap time.

"Football" is what they call American football in the U.S., which is not the same sport as soccer (which is what Americans call the sport known in the rest of the world as "football").

Well, the U.S. does have a history of calling everything weird names, so...

"well aware" is never aware enough.

But I understand. I myself have a history of using weird names for stuff.
