Everyone said 6-10 and we made fun of them... then they went 4-0 in their last 4 games... Maybe we should get people to say they're gonna win the Superbowl (or at least make the playoffs) so we can make fun of them, then the Lions WILL win the Superbowl (or at least make the playoffs). My logic is unfailing! |

"The Lions beat the Packers. The Packers won the Super Bowl. Henceforth, by the Transitive Property of Congruence, the Lions won the Super Bowl." |

When was the last time we heard playoff predictions from fans? Lions defense is looking absolutely scary this upcoming year, and if we can keep Stafford healthy, they can completely turn the team around from a few seasons back with the 0-16 record |

I'm not saying that they're not going to be better this year, I just think they're one more good draft away from being a contender. There's still too many holes in the secondary and the offensive line. Backus and Raiola aren't getting any younger, and heck, Backus is injured right now. |

Gender: Posts: 10,791 Thanks: 1,019 Thanked 686 Times in 467 Posts | Grade your team midseason Jets: Rushing: Early in the year, the Jets decided to try a pass-heavy offense. Because of this, the Jets didn't run as much as I'd like. But now they're running the football more and they seem to be getting more yards out of it considering it sets up the mid-range passing game that Shotty likes. Grade: B+ Passing: Mark Sanchez is talented but he's also a huge bumbling oaf. I don't like him throwing slant routes; they should change the game to allow for more screens to Holmes or Tomlinson. Grade: C+ Receiving: If the Jets have success in the passing game this year, it's because of the play of the receivers and Dustin Keller. They do a good job getting open and will get yards after the catch. Grade: B+ Run Defense: One of the Jets' biggest flaws this year is the fact that they're worse against the run this year. Jason Taylor is back with the Dolphins and longtime Jet Sean Ellis is now with the Patriots, so the defensive line is not playing well. Fortunately the linebackers are making up for it, when they can. Grade: C- Pass Defense: Darelle Revis is still around, and Jim Leonard is back from injury, but one of the biggest improvements I've seen is in second-year CB Kyle Wilson. He's fast and is learning to deflect passes the way Revis is. Grade: A Special teams: Nick Folk is no longer a crap kicker; he's proven to me that he can make the big kick when he needs to, but the biggest improvement is former USC running back Joe McKnight. He's a great kickoff return man and can run it back for a score if he has to. He also blocks punts when he needs to. Credit to Mike Westerhoff for making special teams actually make a difference for the Jets. Grade: A+ -CSM |
