Just a quick sports question.

Something I've always wondered about sports is how good a team is compared to another team based on how many championships they've won.

Does the amount of championships a team has won really have any effect on who the better team currently is?

Hell no.

If a team wins 3 championships between 1962 and 1972, that doesn't make it a better team than a team that wins 2 championships between 1976 and 1996.
Because
It's not the name of the team that wins the championships, but the players ON the team. The players on the teams, and they way the game is played is constantly evolving. Rules change or are adjusted every day.

It's more of a prestige thing and it speaks well of the program/franchise.
