Just FYI, I got these sprites from the authors of the sprites in The Spriter's Resouce and The Shyguy Kindom. Credits for Sprites on TSR:

If you guys ever view this thread, thanks. For the newer issue "Playing with my Wii," I made a custom sprite for Luigi.

As far as the graphics go, they're not very bad at all. Old sprites are often the easiest to manipulate (That's actually why Jay uses NES sprites instead of, say, SNES.).

The jokes are so-so. I didn't really find the first one that funny, but the second one was better. Keep working on it, though.

Alright, the text SUCKS. It's hard to read. However, your comics are considerably better then Saeed's, because you actually have jokes. Saeed's comics are just random crap. Dont take Saeed's advice, because his comics are not too good to begin with.

Anyway.....

Comic 1: Joke sucks, but the text isnt hard to read like it is in the later editions. 5/10

Comic 2: No text, but the joke is alright. 6/10

Comic 3: Incredibly hard to read text, and the joke has been overdone. 2/10

Comic 4: Hard to read, and contains an anti-gay joke. The last panel <Mario and Luigi screaming "GAY"> was very offensive to me. You should consider the fact that some viewers might be gay before making a cruel joke such as that. 0/10

Comic 5: WAAAAAAAAY overdone. 3/10

Okay. I know my last comics were pieces of crap. But this is my last one. A better try, with "childblocks." And remember to watch out for that pesky Mr. Freezy. And that square around Mario? It's an Ice cube. FYI, THIS IS MY FIRST SPRITER'S ATTEMPT. Oh, and my apologies (truly) for the anti-gay joke. I really wasn't aiming at it being anti-gay joke.

Bandit: What's so cruel about someone coming to the realization that another person, especially one who comes off as a total ladies' man, is gay? It's not like he said "OMG HANG TEH FAG". Chill out.

Frumious: Sure, everyone caught the Wii wave a few months back, but so what? EGM just caught on to it last month. It's not that big of a deal; the joke was actually executed in a better way than I've seen everyone else at this forum try it.

Give the newbie a break, guys.

Yes, but he made Mario and Luigi scream out "HE'S GAY!" as if it were a bad thing. It's not the dialouge itself that offended me, its the way Mario and Luigi screamed it out at Link.

But, yeah, I suppose my criticism was a little harsh.

I'm going to stay away from spriting little JPEG files in MS Paint and start building a flash comic with an easy to use flash animator called Swift 3D. It'll be a little more time consuming, but this time the text is garunteed NOT TO SUCK. And, I'll have a little help with the humor in it. This'll be my SECOND attempt. I'm still a newbie, but I'm a computer geek to the tenth power. Trust me, you'll like this next one. I truly promise you. The title is: Mario and Luigi's Official Laughbox. It's a cube filled with hillarious bloopers for all of the major Classic Mario titles we know and love: Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., Super Mario 2, Super Mario 3, and Super Mario World.

These comics remind me of my old series'. Which means, though not as badly as mine, they suck. Oh well. Remember, don't go with pop-culture jokes. I like a few of them, but the rest were a bit overly done, like a bad steak. Like bandit said, The Gay joke may offend someone (I'm not gay, but who knows who here is?). It didn't offend me, but I will say I didn't laugh. Anyway, do better next time. You really have to understand your characters better, then use a joke that actually IS funny.
