-Try not to use the default MSPaint colors, they're not very easy on the eyes.
-The lines in the slashing effects seem random.
-The shield looks kind of wierd in that position. What's the point of it if it's not even in front of him, guarding him from attacks, and rather at his side?

Holy heck:

-You need to shade. No, not just the back of the head, the rest of him too.

-The shield is covering his body, which is a sign of laziness, possibly a sign of a copy-paster.

-You could use a few sprites showing him in frontal position, as he seems to lead a hard life, always standing sideways.

-The colors are strange.

-It needs a bit more appeal(Its missing a certain something that I can't figure out), and a name for the character.

+The animations look okay.

+You did okay on the sword, so kudos for that.

Okay job all around, I guess.

6/10

Well, you still need to add shading in quite a few places. It's a good start, though.

Here're a couple of basic tutorials on shading

That said, you seem to have decent walking poses, which I've always found to be a pain.

His head seems like it's missing something. Like maybe a crest on the back. His armor needs to be shinier. Don't use the MS paint default colors, go to custom colors, and make the color a bit darker, and use that to shade. Other than that, good job.
