Yeah, I noticed that. Only problem is that I tried having the light source come in the same direction as the rest, but shading the ? was hard. I'll work on that.

Yeah, I did that to try and make it look more rounded (since they are more rounded than the brick blocks). You're right though; I'll fix that.

Brick Block looks great but still has the tiling issue; I can't explain it without an image.

*shrug*

Mushroom is the best. Looks way better then before, and also looks better than my edits. Good job. I still think non-black outlines are better... but a super mushroom should pop out against the background, so, dunno.
Yeah, I kind of did black around the foreground stuff and not around the background stuff. POP. Yeah, I dunno... thanks for the compliment though. :]

Goomba's eyes are better, they still need whites though. Same with Bullet Bill's. (at least I think they do, try it out and see if they look better)
OK, I'll try that.

Other three need more help with the shape first, which comes before shading.
I fixed the shell's shape (notice how much better it looks than the original). I will make the fire flower less stretched-looking, though, and I'll try fixing the starman.

BUT, this is work for tomorrow. Right now I need resties.

Then after I fix these I'm gonna start making new sheets, because these sprites are getting old.

Still think shell shape needs work.
lol, your brick block image shows exactly what I was pointing out: selective outlining on the sides.

I meant tiling as in if you make a mockup out of it or a comic or something. They don't fit together with each other right, that's what I meant by tiling.
(still needs work; I'm sleep-deprived.)
1. Yours
2. Somewhat fixed horizontal tiling
3. Fixed horizontal, and vertical (also messed up shading)
4. Re-shaded or something

^ Oh, I gotcha. xD

I'm gonna go fix these sprites one last time and then move on to something else. Working on something you're sick of is not a good way to make it look good.

OK, I spent a lot of time fixing these. Added whites to the bullet bill and the goomba, put darker outlines on the ? box, fixed the fire flower's shape, and tried to make the brick block stack better (it looks a bit better now, but it's still far from perfect. :]).

I'm going to work on some other stuff now. Maybe after I get better I'll get back to these and perfect them.

Starman still looks a little weird. I'm going to play around in Paint with him to see if I can figure it out.

EDIT: I thought this was it. If you look closely, his eyes aren't centered. It's kind of a weird detail, I know, but it throws off the balance of the sprite that much. With any other sprite, it probably wouldn't matter so much, but Starman is one of those sprites that's always symmetrical.

The starman's eyes are centered in relation to the top of the sprite. The real problem is the bottom. Because of the bottom, it would be impossible to center them if they were one pixel apart.
Just for reference, I guess, since you're moving on to bob-ombs and stuff:

1. Original
2. Edited points/legs/whatever to be balanced
3. General shape edit (to make the points more equal)
4. Switched the shades,

OK, I tried doing a toad and those female toads in Toad Town (Paper Mario games). Tell me what you think.
