Now I want to make a parody of "Star Trek" instead of finishing B&FAA.

^You could make a parody in the Mush Man comic.

I don't see how that would fit in with the story.

Some stuff for the Yoshi's Cookie project at MFGG. I'm not very impressed with them, but they're my sprites, nonetheless.

Good job as always DZ. So have you changed avatars or not?

I wish MFGG would update my yoshi suit sprites, then I might get motavation to finnish part 2.

I don't even see an avatar! Unless you mean the lemming guy.

Anyway, good job. But, uh, I don't know if you know this, but SMB2 was already 8-Bit.

Also, Peach looks weird. Other than that, I like a lot of it.

You usally put your avatar near the "give credit" part, and he fits your name. DARKzero.

There's no 8-bit SMB2 style in the project, thus, why I made it.

^^That's supposed to be Xhorr.

I'm attempting to make a Sonic 2-styled Mario. How does that look?

Looks good. Here's some stuff that can maybe be touched up on:

His eyes look weird. Try changing it around.
The nose, I think, should be bigger, rounder.
His arms are too short and his legs are too long.
If you can, change his pose, Mario doesn't usually have his hand on his hips.
His head and feet are kinda big for his body, so you may want to fix that.

To try to balance that out, here's what looks good:

The colors look good.
The hat looks good.
Except for his face, the head looks good, but the hair may be a bit long.
Shading looks real good, which is a bonus to me, 'cause I kinda suck at shading. (Well, I sorta suck at spriting in general, but...)

So, all in all, it could use some touching up, but it looks pretty good. Also, why not Sonic 3 & Knuckles style?

"Also, why not Sonic 3 & Knuckles style?"

That's kind of a question you shouldn't be asking. It seems like you're disregarding the fact that that's maybe the style he wants to sprite in.

As for my own two bits on this: Mario's nose isn't all that noticeable here. I understand that noses aren't really that noticable in this style, but Mario has to have that nose - otherwise, he just isn't the same Mario.
Secondly, Mario looks really skinny here. Sonic only looks that thin because of his build. Mario's portly officially.
Eyes can use a little bit of tweaking, but they're not otherwise very bad.

This is a decent attempt at a custom Sonic 2 styled Mario, though.

Either way, though, it wouldn't be that hard to turn it into Sonic 3. He'd just have to give it a recolor and maybe just tweak it a little.

^It takes a little more effort than that to convert Sonic 1/2 style into Sonic 3 style.

Well, using your suggestions, I made a version 2. How does it look now?

^Yeah, that looks a lot better. If you feel like upgrading more, here's some stuff that can be tweaked:

The nose looks a little weird. Try to make it rounder, if you can.
Also, I think Mario is taller than Sonic, though if you make him taller he might look worse.

But that's just small stuff. Other than that, this looks really good.

Oh, interesting thought, that skinnier version of Mario can probably be edited to look like Luigi.
