The project didn't stay popular on TSR and with a lack of updates with anything new (I held back to prevent spoilers, but I don't know if I should keep that all underwraps entirely), so it wasn't long before a slough of ill-thought-out projects pushed it off the board. For those who don't know: The previously unnamed project has been named 2 Souls' Tale as we've finally settled on a name for it. The gameplay has elements from Odin Sphere, Modern and Retro Castlevania, as well as elements thrown in from many different series. The main story is inspired off the Captain N cartoon as well as the Chronicles of Narnia. You play two real people who have found themselves thrust into a plane of existence they previously assumed didn't exist and are now trying to find each other and leave in one piece. However, the worlds are reduced to small fragments of what they once were, Dark Matter is trying to enslave what remains to create its own version of "order", worlds are at war with each other, a shred of Dark Matter in wraith form is hunting the humans' every step, and every side wants these two humans to get involved (when they'd rather not) for their own reasons." I was Pixelated Penguin, if you remember that name (perhaps it'd be better you didn't, I think I was pretty lame then =\). These all look great, (and far beyond my level of skill, so that I can't really give constructive feedback) and I like that you're actually making your own sprites so that there's a consistent visual style to your game, rather than throwing sprites from multiple unrelated series together as most would do. What's this being programmed in, by the way? |

I'm pretty sure I do remember a member by that name. ![]() It's okay if you can't, I'm my own worst critic anyhow. ![]() Yeah, and it's precisely because of that reason that we (my girlfriend and I) decided on creating our own for the game. Well, it's still up in the air, but we started with Game Maker. Sure, our programmer's disappeared, but it shouldn't stop us from holding out until we get a new one. Anyway, this will be THE last update from me for a long while (depends). I've been pouring a lot of time into this so far, but I think I need to take a break for a while. ![]() And a mockup of the tileset in use along with the appropriate sprites. ![]() This is our representative of the Phantom Train from FF6. |
