Smooth out the corners, please. 2. Avoid using default Paint colors as much as possible. 3. I think you saved it as BMP or JPG. That's no good. Save it as a PNG next time (GIFs are acceptable, but not recommended). |

Keep going and you'll get better, trust me. A natural talent to art probably helps, but it isn't necisary, don't get discouraged. Study some sprites you think are good, and just look at them up close and learn what makes them interesting. The first time I did this was with a beam sword hand thing ne by somebody for a Xemnas sprite. After studying the pattern a bit, I eventually learned how to make a good lightsaber sprite. At the time it seemed a little complicated , but it didn't take very long before I was just doing them for fun. Either way, you should keep going, you'll get better, it's mostly just a question of when. I'll try and find the first sprite tutorial I looked at, it helped me out alot with the basics. Also, the circle tool is the little button on the tools bar in paint that makes a circle for you as you hold down the left mouse button and drag the pointer. EDIT: Also, most of what DZ said. |

That makes sense. I'll try to smooth out the edges and try to change the file type. Alright, I'm having quite a bit of trouble relating to making it a circle. Know matter what I do, it seems as if one part is drooping, or one side goes out farther than the other. I can't make it a perfect, or at least close to, circle. I had a lot of trouble with this, thanks to the terribleness that is Paint. Selecting a certain thing to move to a certain spot just doesn't work out for me.... Oh well. Here's attempt at a sprite numero dos. ![]() Sorry about the size, btw. If I try to make it any the larger the quality becomes waaay worse than it already it. |

It appears to be alright, maybe the Cascoons could be edited to be more attached to the Grotle, but that's just me nitpicking. |

How do you select the pokemon so you can move it onto another picture on the screen without the white box around the pokemon? |

Click "Select Tool" (rectangle) and look below the toolbar. See the differently colored bars? One of them has a white box around it, the other doesn't. Click on the one that doesn't. YOU'RE WHITE BOX IS NOW GONE! But the second one also takes the white off of a sprite that has white on it. |

As well as many other peoples... But yeah, the transparency tool (or whatever, I never got the name exactly) is your best friend in spriting. Just make sure you remember that whatever is your secondary color (the one on the right mouse button, the default is white) is what will be transparent. Also, I'd suggest becoming familiar with the eyedropper tool. | |

Oh, yeah I've been using the eyedropper tool the whole time. It really does make things a ton easier. (Oh jeez, she's at it again.)
