Big Rumour on the FFVII Front...

According to EGM magazine this month, there is a large rumour going around that states Square/Enix are planning on a direct sequel to FFVII! It will not be for the PS2, however, the rumour is it is in the works as a game for the upcoming PSP! Bear in mind that this is but a mere rumour and should be taken as such...discuss, speculate, bicker, whatever!

Heard it. No. Remake. If its not a remake then holy **** they are going to screw themselves over.

FFVII-2....come on! You really think they'd pull that crap. FFX-2 is one thing. This is something else entirely. Remakes are good. Though they could finish everything they wanted in the remake what they could not in the original. Like how Aeris was supposed to be brought back to life. Hey I never said the stuff they didn't put in wasn't all good stuff.

Aeris coming back was a rumor. Aeris's death is essential to the plot.

You can't make a sequel to FF7! The "500 years later" sequence sorta wraps everything up!

Ever check the church later on when you return to Midgar? Left over data.....or just a bug that had the leftover sprite from Disc 1.

Not exactly a rumor though. They did say they were going to work with FF7 in some way. But they put it on hold along with a remake of 8 and 9...6 was metnioned briefly I believe.

Just another sign that Square is getting completely crappy. I can't think of one good game that they're developing right now. OK, MAYBE FFXII. But that's still a long way away.-jay

I'm with Jay. There is not 1 good game Square is developing.Come on,Square! We want some GOOD Chrono Games! A remake, even! Mario RPG? Chrono Trigger? FFVI!?

Something in the works probably means that they are making some port so they can sell the same game for a profit with very little cost.

Is Square working on any new Star Ocean games?
